Quick & Simple Holiday Makeup

I don't know about you guys but come Christmas day and I'd rather spend more time unwrapping gifts, seeing loved ones and eating more food than my tummy can handle instead of spending an hour trying to perfect the candy cane eye liner or the glitter cut crease. So what I have put together today are a bunch of makeup products to achieve an effortless festive look in a flash.

PIXI BY PETRA GLOW BOOSTER

Pixi is a very popular brand but not very accessible downunder so I was happy to finally have one of her lovely products in my possession. This liquid face illuminator in 'White Pearl' is brilliant for mixing in with your foundation to give your skin that heavenly glow. This shade is a stunning sheer pearly pink that has a very thin, liquidy consistency so it blends easily into the skin and it is incredibly lightweight. The shimmery particles are very fine so it doesn't make your face look like a chunky glittery disco ball, it has more of a pretty pearlescent finish that is just perfect for the holidays.

MAYBELLINE THE COLOSSAL BIG SHOT MASCARA

Apply a few coats of this mascara and you won't need to fiddle around with falsies which is a total time saver! My lashes look MUCH fuller and flirty minus the spidery effect so I have to say, this mascara really does live up to the hype! I personally feel Maybelline do the best drugstore mascaras and this one is up there with their cult favourite Lash Sensational. The trick with this one is to not let it dry in between coats because it will cause clumping and nobody ever wants that. Sometimes I have to go in with two different mascaras; one for lengthening and separating and another one for thickness and curl, but I can definitely get away with using this mascara alone to achieve my desired effect.

CIATÉ PRETTY STIX LIPSTICK

I adore a traditional Christmas red lip but it can be such a finicky process, so opting for a lipstick that is 10 times easier to work with is my solution for a speedy makeup look. 'First Love' leans towards the red-pink end of the colour spectrum with a super creamy formula that offers intense hydration to the lips. It is saturated in pigment so you don't need to apply much at all, in fact, I like to lightly dab it on to create a glossy stained look instead of an intense bold lip. It's truly a gorgeous lip colour and it saves you from having to use lip liner, lipstick and then tidying up the edges because it looks sloppy which is hella time consuming.

L'ORÉAL BLUSH

I'm a huge fan of L'Oréal's blushes and they would have to be some of my absolute favourites. I couldn't go past the shade 'Candy Cane Pink' simply because it's all in the name so of course I had to feature it in today's post. It's a muted pink tone that will make those cheeks pop and it has such a beautiful satin finish for a natural looking glow. The powder is amazingly soft in texture with great colour pay off and it blends really nicely for the perfect flush.

ESSENCE METAL SHOCK EYESHADOW

Brand new from Essence are these creamy, metallic eyeshadows to take your eye look to the next level for that wow factor plus, they're pretty much swipe and go so there is no messing about! I picked up the shade 'Solar Explosion' which is basically an intense shimmery gold to brighten up your entire holiday makeup look. It comes with a doe foot applicator so you can apply it straight to your eye lids and blend it with your fingertips (or a brush), and that is all there is to it! For the price, these are actually amazing and I highly suggest having a little browse through this range.
