My Top 5 Eyeshadow Palettes

It wasn't easy narrowing it down to my top 5. But I thought about which palettes I reach for the most and these lucky palettes made it to the top of the list. These palettes are more on the neutral side which is no surprise because I adore my neutral tones, and they have been well loved and traveled over the months for creating any look I desire for every occasion.

Nude Focus

Today we're focusing on the nude side of makeup. I just love my neutral tones when it comes to makeup. They are flattering on all skin tones and are perfectly wearable for all occasions, no matter what time of the day. I love to create a soft, sweet look for during the day and a sultry, smoky look by night and you just can't go wrong with a nude lippy. Nude shades are definitely my go-to so I've put together some of my favourites in this post dedicated to the shade nude.

Beauty Wish List

A new year calls for new beauty products so I've put together a beauty wishlist that I hope to tick off one by one by the end of the year. There are a lot of luxury products out on the shelves and being a beauty addict, I'm very much looking forward to getting my hands on them to see what all the hype is about.

Handbag Essentials

I like to keep my handbag clutter free by only carrying the essentials like my purse, keys and phone as well as other bits and pieces that I know I'll be needing on a daily basis.

Micellar Cleansing Wipes

I like to have these on hand for when I need to freshen up after a day at the beach, a long flight or just to remove makeup after a big night out. They're also great for those nights when you're feeling a little lazy or you're just simply too tired to cleanse your face, which is where facial wipes come to the rescue.

Lip Balm
Lip balm is always something I have in my handbag at all times because nobody likes that dry, cracked lips feeling. It moisturises and hydrates your lips all day long and some even contain an SPF to protect your lips from the harsh sun.

Valentine's Day Inspired Makeup

Whether you're celebrating this occasion with your valentine, with friends or not at all, this classic Valentine's Day inspired makeup look is perfect for whatever your plans may be and it's also perfectly wearable for any time of the year.

For this look I went for classic Valentine's Day colours - red and pink to create this sweet, flattering makeup look suitable for day or night wear.

I wanted a flawless, full coverage base so I used Maybelline's Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in the shade Porcelain.
I brightened up my under eyes with YSL's Radiant Touch Concealer in Luminous Ivory, and powdered my face with the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Fair to set my makeup in place.

Everyday Makeup

For day to day, I like to keep my makeup simple and light with the use of minimal products.
So for this post, I've included nine primary makeup products to achieve effortless, everyday makeup for work, lunch with friends or just simply running errands.

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow

When I don't want to wear a lipstick but I want to add a of touch colour to my lips, I reach for a tinted lip balm.
I love the sweet, candy scent to this range and the shades are all pink based to give you that little pop of colour.
They also add a bit of a glossy finish to your lips and the Vitamin E helps to keep your lips moisturised and hydrated all day long.

BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder - 205

I always make sure I set my makeup with a powder to ensure it lasts all day long.
This pressed powder gives me a matte finish while absorbing any excess oils that may have risen to the surface during the day.
It has great pigmentation and the powder is very fine and smooth.
A handy little compact to carry in your hand bag as it has a mirror and a makeup sponge for touch ups on the go.

Summer Inspired Makeup

Today I have a little something different to share with you and it's a simple Summer inspired makeup look.
For this look I went for a vibrant blue under my lash line, an orange lip and glowing skin.
I'm very excited to be incorporating makeup looks into my blog so I hope you enjoy!

I used the Designer Brands Longwear 24 Hour Foundation in Classic Ivory to give me a flawless, full coverage base to work with. I also mixed in the Australis Mineral Liquid Highlighter in Pearl for an all over highlight.
I used The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer to highlight my t-zone, cheekbones and above my brows to achieve that healthy Summer glow.
I went for Essence's Happy Girls Are Pretty Multi Colour Blush (trend edition) in You Sweeten My Day just to give me a subtle wash of colour to my cheeks.

For the eyelid, I kept it fairly simple.
I used a matte mauve shade from Essence's All About Roses Eye Shadow Palette to define my crease.
I created the winged liner using the Glam Liner Aqua Luxe by NYX in the shade Glam Black, and applied mascara to my bottom and top lashes.

The false lashes are from eBay and they aren't too dramatic, they just add length and a touch of volume.
For the lower lash line, I used two shades of blue from Flormar's Pretty Compact Quartet Eye Shadow to create a bit of an ombre effect.
I ran the Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Cool Dawn by Essence in my water line to enhance the vibrancy of the blue.

I didn't want too much of a defined brow so I lightly filled them in using the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro HD Brow Pencil in Blonde.
Lastly, I applied Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in Vibrant Mandarin to pull the entire look together.

I hope you enjoyed my Summer inspired makeup look.
If you did, please +1 and don't forget to follow me so you don't miss a post!

Stay beautiful!
