Top 10 Under $10

Today I have for you my top 10 makeup products for under $10.
So if you're on a budget or you just love affordable makeup, just keep on reading and I hope this post is helpful in your next drugstore visit.

DB Pressed Mineral Blush - Rose

DB are a good quality drugstore brand that offer products from nail polish to foundations to fragrances.
This gorgeous rose toned blush would look beautiful on all skin tones and it's usually my Autumn blush shade.

The formulation is great. It's silky, pigmented and gives you a subtle glow to the cheeks.
They have 4 shades to choose from in the range, Blossom, Nectar, Rose and Glow. Their products are also certified cruelty free and vegan.

Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara - Blondy Brows

Very comparable to Benefit's Gimme Brow except much more affordable and it gives you the same effect.
It has tiny fibres throughout to fill in any sparse areas you may have to create a more full and defined brow.
The formula is fantastic which makes it so easy to comb through your brows without any mess or fuss, and does a wonderful job at setting your brow hairs in place.
So effortless and achieves great results.
The only downside is it's only available in two colours so it may not suit everyone.

NYX Butter Gloss - Maple Blondie

I adore NYX as a brand and these butter glosses are simply amazing.
They provide sheer to medium coverage so you can wear them alone or over the top of your favourite lipstick.

They don't feel thick and sticky on the lips like some lip glosses, they're actually very comfortable to wear and the scent is just divine.
The doe foot applicator makes it very easy to apply no matter where you are and it wears quite well throughout the day.
They have a big range of shades to choose from so there is something out there for everyone.

Australis Metallix Eye Shadow - Gold Gaga

These little eye shadows are absolutely stunning.
Very similar to Stila's Magnificent Metal's but much more wallet friendly.
With their foil metallic finish, these are perfect to wear on nights out when you're looking to intensify your eye look.
The texture is very soft and pigmented, you don't need to use much at all and they are so easy to blend.
They also contain Vitamin E and anti-oxidants to assist in smoothing and hydrating the eyelids.
I like to apply an eyelid primer prior to application to ensure it lasts as long as possible.

Elf Studio Matte Lip Colour - Coral

If you love a matte lip, you can't go past these.
What I love about them is that for a matte finish, they're not overly drying or uncomfortable on the lips. If you do find it to be drying, a simple fix of applying a lip balm prior to application or a lip gloss over the top is all you need.
The wind up packaging is so convenient. No need to sharpen it every time it becomes blunt.
It's rich in colour and lasts pretty well on the lips. A touch up may only be needed every few hours or so.

Essence All About Roses Eye Shadow Palette

I always completely blown away by the quality of the shadows in this palette.
Sometimes with their palettes it can be a hit or a miss. Some shadows could be full of pigment and the other shades are just lacking. But not this palette.
Each and every shade in this palette is just beautiful.
You can create a soft, shimmery, day time look or a matte, smoky night time look with this diverse palette.
I'm a big lover of Essence and their products are incredible for the price so I definitely recommend them.

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick - Flashing

A lovely pink toned lipstick that will look great during the Spring and Summer seasons.
Very creamy in texture and good colour pay off as well.
There are over 20 shades to choose from in the Amazing Lipstick range and they're all under $3, so they are a definite steal.

Ulta3 Volume & Length Mascara

Some of their products are a bit average however, this is a nice mascara.
It does lengthen my lashes and it does give me some volume.
I always curl my lashes beforehand and this mascara helps to hold the curl in place, with a little more help from the curved wand.

The formulation is quite thick but it doesn't clump or give me that spidery effect to my lashes which I'm not too keen on.
There isn't much information on this mascara but it looks like it has little fibres on the wand to give you that full lash effect that every girl desires.

Chi Chi Stay-On Lip Liner - Centrefold

This nude brown works well for my fair skin tone.
It's soft and creamy so it doesn't drag along your lip line.
I've worn their lip liners alone at dinner and they barely rubbed off so they really are long wearing.
I love that it's a wind up lip liner so I don't need to worry about sharpening it once it's blunt.
They can be worn alone as they don't feel too drying on the lips or you can pair it with a lipstick or a lip gloss of your choice.

Fantastic lip liners to reach for if you know you're going to be eating and drinking because it's also smudge proof and waterproof.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish - You Goji

If I'm on a budget and I need a nail polish that I know I can I rely on, I always look for Sinful Colors.
You Goji is an absolutely gorgeous deep berry shade that I love wearing during Autumn.

The consistency of the polish is just right and very opaque so there's no need to apply four coats just to reveal it's true colour.
They have quite an extensive range of colours and finishes to choose from so I always find the colour I'm searching for. Whether it be a glitter, shimmer, metallic or a cream finish.
They last as well as a regular nail polish does but I just use a gel top coat and it keeps my mani looking good for longer.

They are my top 10 under $10.

Summer Must Haves

I love Summer nights, going to the beach and having ice cream down the pier, dining out by the water and watching a movie at twilight in the gardens.
Today I have a mix of must have products for the Summer season including makeup, skin and hair so I hope this post helps you get through this hot and humid season.

L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation - Vanilla

I love this foundation for it's waterproof, heat and sweat proof properties.
I have accidentally spilled wine on my face and there was barely any transfer when I patted my skin dry.

The formula is very smooth and contains 1/3 water which makes this foundation glide so easily over the skin.
It is full coverage without the heavy feeling of a full coverage foundation and it doesn't cake up on my skin either.
This is my go-to foundation for those long Summer days because I can always rely on it to keep my makeup looking flawless for as long as possible.

Essence Waterproof Eyeliner Pen - Deep Black

Nobody wants their winged liner that you spent forever on trying to perfect to melt off your eyelids which is where Essence's Waterproof Eyeliner Pen comes in handy.
It's long lasting and smudge proof.
The felt tip applicator makes it a breeze to create the perfect wing with precision and it's a nice dark black which is what you want in a good eyeliner.

Banana Boat Every Day SPF 50+ Sunscreen

Protecting your skin from UV rays is crucial and should be looked after all year round.
UV exposure is greater in Summer so using a broad spectrum sunscreen of 50+ is definitely the way to go.
Banana Boat sunscreen is a great brand because they are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation which is an important factor when you're looking for a good quality sunscreen.
It offers 4 hours of water resistance, it contains Aloe and Vitamin E, it's fragrance free and the formula doesn't feel greasy on the skin so it can be worn on your face and body.

BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Sculpt & Glow Contouring Kit - Light/Medium

I love a good bronze and glow during Summer and this is a great kit by BH Cosmetics.
The kit contains a matte and shimmer highlight, a blush, a contour and a bronze shade.
Pigmentation is high so be sure to use a light hand.

Hurraw! Balm - SPF 15 Sun Balm

I always use this when I'm going to be out in the sun for a long period of time.
Because of it's thick formula, it has longer staying power which is just perfect when you're out in the sun.
It's full of amazing ingredients such as Tangerine, Vanilla and Chamomile as well as Sea Buckthorn oil, Red Raspberry Seed oil and Pomegranate Seed oil.
The Zinc Oxide in this balm offers ultimate protection from UVA and UVB rays but be careful not to apply too much at once as it will give you a slight white tint to your lips.

Quay Zig Cat Eye Sunglasses - Gold

I bought these because I wanted decent protection for my eyes against the sun and these definitely do that.
The lenses are a category 3 which offer you high sun glare reduction and good UV protection compared to a category 0-1 which only offer you very low to limited protection.

Quay have amazing styles of sunglasses and they're very trendy so you look good while keeping those eyes safe from the sun.

Essence All Eyes On Me Waterproof Multi-Effect Mascara

Does a good job at separating my lashes without any clumping and it doesn't budge until you want to remove it.
I'm not one for wearing makeup to the beach or pool so I'm not sure how well it holds but in terms of heat and sweat, I didn't find that it rubbed off or transferred so that's a plus.

Fudge Salt Spray

I love that whole beachy, texturised hair style that you get when you go for a swim at the beach.
I can't swim so I cheat and use a product that gives me that look and I think it is the perfect hairstyle for Summer.
It provides extra body and gives life to my hair when it's looking a bit flat and dull.
I also like to use a curling iron to create soft, subtle waves throughout my hair which also gives me extra volume.
Hardly any effort required for such a stylish hairdo.

Chi Chi Super CC Cream - Fair

Contains over than 30 skin conditioning agents which is quite impressive and it also has an SPF of 30 to protect your skin from the sun's harsh rays.
I wear this on days where I just need some colour correcting and this leaves my skin looking radiant and healthy.

Can be worn as a primer or as a light foundation and it feels very lightweight on the skin.
It really is a super CC cream and it's one of my favourites.

Rexona Clinical Protection - Summer Strength

I've been a loyal consumer of Rexona's deodorants for years but I needed more protection during Summer so I gave this one a try.
It keeps my dry for longer and controls odors which is exactly what I need for Summer.
It has a lovely fresh scent to it which I don't mind at all.
The only downside is it leaves that white powdery residue on dark clothing and it can leave yellow marks on white clothing.
Not the best for anti white and anti yellow marks however it does an incredible job at keeping me feeling dry and fresh for longer on those hot Summer days.
Definitely recommend it if you're needing more out of your antiperspirant.

Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Setting Spray

My holy grail makeup setting spray.
I have oily skin so it needs extra control during Summer and this works a treat every time.
It helps to keep my makeup from sliding and smudging throughout the day so I don't need to touch up as often when I use this setting spray.
I'll forever be re-purchasing this one.

That is it for my Summer must haves.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it.

Best Of 2015 - Part 2

Welcome to the final part of my best of 2015!
I have 10 more makeup products to include in this 2 part post that were my absolute favourites during the year of 2015, so lets get into it!

Chi Chi Glamorous Eye Shadow Palette - Nudes

Chi Chi are a fantastic brand who create great quality products and I don't think there is anything of theirs that I don't love.
All of their eye shadow palettes are so pigmented and they have so many to choose from but the Nudes palette has been my absolute favourite.
You can create a soft subtle look or a night time smoky look with these shades so it's quite a versatile palette and very affordable.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 HR Powder - Light Porcelain

I wore this powder on the hottest of temperatures while moving house and through all of the heat and sweat, my makeup lasted through all of it.
You can apply it either wet or dry and the coverage is buildable which is great.
I like to use it with a damp beauty sponge and dab it over areas that require extra coverage like my t-zone area or over any breakouts.

It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and doesn't cake up on me either.
The lasting power of this product is simply amazing so if you're looking for a drugstore  waterproof powder foundation, I would definitely recommend this one.

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray

I use this mainly for special occasions or very hot Summer days and it's a setting spray I can always rely on to keep my makeup in place all day/night.
It's also a must have in your makeup routine if you have oily skin.
I like to use it after I've applied a primer and again once I've completed my makeup.

It does an incredible job at oil control and preventing any smudging or fading of your makeup.

Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer - Bare

My go-to foundation all 2015 when I needed full coverage and staying power.
It's an oil-free matte foundation that covers imperfections really well and even helps to minimize the appearance of pores and wrinkles.
It's quite a thick formula but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it blends flawlessly whether you use your fingers, a brush or a makeup sponge.
It is pricey, but it's worth it.
I absolutely love this foundation, it is just perfect.

Make Up Store Lipstick - Bittersweet

I love this shade of lipstick as a day to day lip colour.
It's not too bright or too bold. It just gives you a lovely natural colour to your lips and it's very moisturising as it contains avocado oil, shea butter and jojoba.

The Balm Blush - Hot Mama

A stunning blush that would suit any skin tone.
Very comparable to the famous Nars Orgasm shade of blush.
It gives you a beautiful pinky-peach hue to your cheeks with a subtle highlight.
It's the perfect blush for all occasions.

Australis Metallix Eye Shadow - Guns N Rose Petals

These little eye shadow pots are amazing.
If you're looking to enhance your eye look, these offer intense colour with their metallic foil finish and you only need the smallest amount.
Quite similar to Stila's Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow except more wallet friendly.
I've found the best way to apply it is with your finger tip and just blend it out with an eye shadow brush.

Innoxa Pure Silk Skin Primer

This primer does a wonderful job at giving me a smooth and silky base to work with.
It fills in my pores and helps to extend the wear of my makeup throughout the day.
It's a light gel texture that has a silicone feel to it which is what I like in a primer.
It's also 100% fragrance free which is great for any of you with sensitive skin.

Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy Nail Polish - Queen of Hearts

Revlon have done such an amazing job with the Gel Envy range.

They have 36 colours to choose from, there is no streaking upon application, they're fast drying and they actually do last a lot long longer than your regular nail polish.
Not only that, the formulation is perfect. It's not too thick or not too thin, which makes applying it to your nails so easy and they look like salon quality nails with the smooth, glossy finish.

Too Faced Eye Shadow Palette - Natural Eyes

I was utterly obsessed with this palette.
I wouldn't use any other eye shadow palette for months because of how much I loved it.
The shades blend beautifully and they are so richly pigmented and buttery.
It also comes with little cards showing you how to create eye shadow looks using this palette which is quite handy.

I have the old packaging of this palette. I believe they have 3 new shades now so they've replaced Nude Beach, Velvet Revolver and Cocoa Puff. The modified palette still looks gorgeous though.
If you're a lover of neutral shadows, you will adore this palette.

My best of 2015 has come to an end.

Best Of 2015 - Part 1

Welcome to part 1 of 2 of my best of 2015!
It wasn't easy narrowing it down to my all time favourite makeup products of 2015 and it all came down to which products I picked up the most throughout the year.
So here I have a mix of high end and drugstore makeup products to share with you so I hope you enjoy the read!

Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette - Spirit

An absolutely beautiful palette that includes 12 of Stila's most iconic shades.
There is a mix of shimmer and matte and light to dark shades to create any look you desire which makes this palette so versatile.
I love the rose gold packaging. It is the prettiest palette I own and the shades themselves are simply amazing and opaque.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation - Porcelain

This has been my favourite drugstore foundation of 2015.
The struggle is real when it comes to finding a good match for my fair skin. They are either too yellow or too pink but the shade Porcelain is just perfect.
I have oily skin so I always go for a matte foundation and this just did not fail me.

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation - Fair

Gotta love their signature cocoa scent!
I like to dust it over my face as a setting powder or if I'm needing extra coverage over my foundation, I will dab it over my face with a damp beauty sponge.
The rose petal finish is just lovely. It doesn't make my makeup look flat which mattifying powders can sometimes do.

Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick - Idol

I fell in love with this metallic lipstick because it just looks so amazing on the lips.
It gives you an iridescent, 3D shine to your lips.
The deep burgundy shade is just perfect for Autumn/Winter as well.
The formula is so creamy and comfortable to wear.
The Rouge Shine collection also come in glossy and shimmer lipsticks with a wide colour range to choose from.

I would definitely purchase more of their lipsticks, I think they're fantastic.

L'Oreal Paris Brow Artist Plumper - Blonde

This does a wonderful job at combing through your brows, filling in sparse areas with the little fibers and setting your brows in place all day long.
The brush is a good size and the formula is just great.
It makes shaping your brows a breeze with this brow gel.

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts - Bursting With Love

This blush trio is beautiful.
You can use them alone or swirl the three together for a gorgeous glowing flush to the cheeks.
Very pigmented, especially the highlight shade and the packaging is the cutest.
Amazing value for money and it has been my most used blush of 2015.

Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch Concealer - Luminous Ivory

I love how well this highlights my face.
I like to use it over the top of my under eye concealer and it just brightens up the area.

It blends so beautifully into the skin leaving you with a healthy radiant glow.
I've been reaching for this a lot when I'm in need of a radiance boost.

Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette - Au Naturel

Features 12 gorgeous matte and shimmer shades to create any eye look for all occasions, and you can easily go from day to night with this palette.
It also has little to no fall out with great pigmentation.Sleek MakeUP do fantastic eye shadow palettes so if you're looking to purchase one, you can't go wrong with the Au Naturel palette.
