Nude Focus

Today we're focusing on the nude side of makeup. I just love my neutral tones when it comes to makeup. They are flattering on all skin tones and are perfectly wearable for all occasions, no matter what time of the day. I love to create a soft, sweet look for during the day and a sultry, smoky look by night and you just can't go wrong with a nude lippy. Nude shades are definitely my go-to so I've put together some of my favourites in this post dedicated to the shade nude.

Let's start off with Stila's Color Balm Lipstick. I was on the search for a nude lipstick that didn't completely wash me out and being fair skinned, nude toned lipsticks weren't easy to come by. After heavy research, Olivia was the perfect shade of nude for me and it's still one of my favourites. The peppermint scent may be a bit much for some but I personally love it. It adds a soothing and cooling sensation to the lips. The formulation is very creamy and hydrating with amazing colour payoff.

Maybelline's Rose Poudre from the Super Stay 7 Days line is a gorgeous pink-nude shade of nail polish. It's a gel formula with no need for a UV lamp and it really does last longer on your nails than a regular nail polish. Application is very smooth and opaque, no streaks or thick clumps. I like that this range of nail polishes contain Calcium, Silica and Iron to help strengthen nails, which is fantastic if you like your nails long. For long lasting results, apply a base coat and a gel top coat to help against chipping and your mani will look flawless all week long.

Lip liners are a good way to extend the wear of your lip colour and prevent feathering. They're also great for slightly overdrawing your lips to achieve the perfect pout. Centrefold by Chi Chi is a lovely nude-brown shade and the quality is outstanding. No need for sharpening as it's a wind up lip liner which makes it very convenient for travelling and touch ups on the go. Another great thing about Chi Chi's lip liners is they don't drag or pull along your lips because the texture is so creamy and also quite long lasting, even when worn alone.

I own a few of Sleek MakeUP's i-Divine Eyeshadow Palettes and I think they're incredible. Au Naturel has all of the neutral tones you need in one palette. From shimmers to mattes, to lights and darks, this palette has you covered for whatever look you're creating. Very blendable shades with great pigmentation and they're also easy on the wallet. Can't ask for more than that!

I've been loving Rimmel's Lasting Finish Nude Collection by Kate Moss and I think each of those five shades are absolutely gorgeous, but 45 was a standout for me. It's the perfect pink-nude shade and it suits my fair skin nicely. I like the scent of these lipsticks as well as the packaging, it's very girly and pretty. The texture is smooth and creamy that lasts well on the lips. A great drugstore nude collection by Rimmel.

The Models Prefer Infinite Colour Eye Pencil in Nude Appeal is a beautiful champagne nude shade, perfect for lining your waterline and inner corners to brighten up the eyes. The formula of these eye pencils are of amazing quality. They're creamy and just glide on with ease. Staying power is also fantastic, it lasts all day for me. They have a lovely range of shades to choose from as well. Choc Frost, Purple Rein and Bronze Ambition look stunning so I'm definitely going to get my hands on them. Did I mention they're only $10? That is a steal!

Tea Rose is a muted plum shade with blue undertones so it makes my teeth appear whiter. I'm not sure if it's just me or the entire Creamy Round Lipstick range, but they kind of taste like soap. After a while though I don't notice it. They're still a great lipstick for the price and they last well throughout the day. They apply well on the lips, formulation is creamy and smooth that leaves a nice satin finish on the lips.

Lastly, it's another product by Models Prefer and it's their Nude Eyeshadow Palette. A handy little travel size palette with 10 nude shades, including a mirror for application on the go. It comes with a variety of light to dark and matte and shimmer shades which is lovely. You can create a soft natural look or a warm smoky eye which makes this such a versatile palette.
