August Favourites

Hi lovelies, hope August has been good to you!
Today I'll be sharing with you what I've been loving this month so I hope you enjoy the read!

Chi Chi Super CC Cream in Fair:

Chi Chi as a brand make fantastic makeup, there isn't a product of theirs that I don't love and this is another one!

This cc cream is loaded with some wonderful ingredients that benefit the skin including, caviar extract which is high in antioxidants, green tea extract which contains ant inflammatory properties and indian lotus flower that has a natural occurring anti wrinkle effect.

I can see why they call it a super cc cream, it holds over 30 ingredients which is quite impressive!
Not only that, but it contains an SPF of 30 to protect you from the sun's rays.

Because it's such a hydrating and moisturising product, I suggest using mattifying products in conjunction with this cc cream, if you have an oily skin type that is.

If you'd like me to do a more in depth review, just let me know in the comments down below!

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Lotion:

I love fruity scents and was looking for a new body lotion and I fell in love with the Blueberry range at The Body Shop.

The pump dispenser is really handy and it moisturises beautifully with easy absorption into the skin.

It is a lightweight formula which is just what I prefer in a body lotion as I don't have overly dry skin, but if you're looking for a more intensive body moisturiser then definitely reach for the Blueberry Body Butter instead.

COLAB Dry Shampoo in New York:

I've been a loyal fan of Batiste dry shampoo but I saw this and I thought I should give it a try.

If you really dislike the powdery finish Batiste dry shampoos leave on your hair, then you'll absolutely love this brand!

It claims to have a sheer and invisible formula and I would absolutely agree with that!

You can barely see it on your hair. It actually took me a fair bit of spraying to notice any kind of powdery residue on my hair, which eliminates all that time you have to spend trying to work it in.

It also does a great job at absorbing oil and it left my hair feeling clean and refreshed.

I picked up the New York dry shampoo which has a fruity fragrance to it.
They also have Tokyo, London, Paris and Rio in their collection with different fragrances to them.

A big thumbs up with this dry shampoo!

English Tea Shop White Tea:

I began drinking white tea because it contains a larger quantity of antioxidants than green tea.

White tea has many health benefits but the main reason why I drink it is to fight off the free radicals in my system to help promote healthy skin.

Lime Crime Unicorn Lipstick in Geradium:

Could very well be the cutest lipstick I own! Love the packaging and love the colour!

It's not as moisturising as I would've liked but that's an easy fix by applying a lip balm before application.

Coming into spring, I chose Geradium for that reason and I'm happy with how opaque of a lipstick it is. If all their shades are just as opaque then I'd be one happy customer!

They have a wide range of colours in the unicorn line, some a bit too daring for me personally but I'd love to create a look with some of their lipstick shades just for fun!

Drugstore Vs High-End - Makeup Remover Balms

Hi lovelies!
Hope you're all well!

Cleansing balms are an effective way to thoroughly remove a full face of makeup, including waterproof mascara! So,
today's post will be a comparison between, The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (drugstore) and Ole Henriksen's Pure Truth Melting Cleanser (high-end).

If you'd like to see which product is a winner, then just keep on reading!

The Body Shop - Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The first thing I loved about this was the packaging.

It's slim and easy to open and close.

The actual balm itself is a solid with a beautiful scent to it. Not overpowering at all, just a really pleasant scent.

To apply, you scoop out your desired amount and rub it into your dry face and massage it in like you would with any sort of cleanser, and rinse off with warm water.Once you've rinsed your face, follow up with your favourite serum and moisturiser.

It is perfectly safe for use around the eyes, I didn't experience any sort of stinging or irritation whatsoever.

The one thing I was very curious about was whether it would remove waterproof mascara and how well it would remove it.

It did a fantastic job!

After drying my eyes, there was no leftover mascara residue.

As for the rest of my makeup, it removed it nicely and left my face feeling clean.
It has a rich, creamy consistency that just leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

This balm contains high quality camomile essential oil and natural olive oil.

It's for suitable sensitive skin and if you wear contact lenses.

You can purchase The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter at,

Ole Henriksen - Pure Truth Melting Cleanser

First impression, it's an orange jelly!

Which got me excited to try it because if it's visually appealing, you'll be more inclined to use it.

This 3 in 1 cleanser contains Vitamin C, Rosehip Oil and Virgin Cherry Oil which benefit the skin in multiple ways such as, supporting natural collagen, neutralizing free radicals as well as brightening, repairing and nourishing the skin.

To apply, scoop out a small amount of the balm and massage into dry skin. The jelly will melt into an oil which will dissolve the makeup. Add warm water to your skin which will then transform into a milky texture. Rinse your skin clean and follow up with your favourite serum and moisturiser.

You can really smell the Rosehip Oil in the balm which isn't necessarily a horrible thing unless you despise the smell of Rosehip.

It has a very luxurious feel to the balm and you can tell instantly that your skin is just going to love it!

I also didn't experience any stinging or irritation around my eye area which is a plus!

As for how well it removed my makeup, it did an absolutely brilliant job! Even on waterproof mascara!

It also left my skin feeling hydrated and supple.

I purchased my Pure Truth Melting Cleanser on, http://www.lookfantastic.com/home.dept.

Overall, I think they both do a fantastic job at removing makeup and I don't have any problems with either of them in terms of look, feel or smell.
Although, I do prefer the smell of the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, but that's just me.

The Rosehip smell in the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser doesn't really bother me too much, it smells natural and I would much prefer that than something that just reeks of added artificial fragrances.

The Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is only 90 ml in volume as opposed to 118 ml being the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser.

So, if you were on a budget then by all means go for the drugstore option, it will give you great results however, I definitely feel that you would get more out of the high-end brand as not only is it packed full of wonderful ingredients for your skin, it also holds more product therefore, it would last you longer.

Ole Henrisken's Pure Truth Melting Cleanser is a winner in my eyes!

Thank you so much for reading and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it!

If you have any questions, feel free to leave one in the comments down below.

Lust Have It Unboxing & Review

Hello again lovelies!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Today's post will be an unboxing of July's Lust Have It box and I'll be showing you what little surprises are inside!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Lust Have It, it's an Australian monthly subscription service where you receive 5-6 deluxe samples and full size beauty products delivered to your door for $19.95. The beauty products you get will range from hair care, skin care and cosmetics so you'll get a bit of everything in your beauty box.

Garnier Fructis Full & Luscious Shampoo and Conditioner (sample):

If this isn't just a gimmick, then I'll be one happy lady!
I'm all for thick and full hair as my hair type is thin which can become a bit flat and lifeless.

I won't be able to comment on whether or not this will give me full and luscious hair as it's only a single use sample but I'm looking forward to giving this line a proper try when I purchase the full sizes.

RRP: $5.95.

Be a Bombshell The One Stick in Southern Belle (full size):

A great multi purpose product that can be used as a blush and a lip colour all in one!
It's a warm coral shade with a subtle shimmer that looks lovely on the cheek and works well as a base lip colour with a gloss over the top. Perfect for spring/summer!

Quite a pigmented product so be careful not to go crazy if you're using it as a blush!

RRP: $24.

Hikari Eye Shadow Quad in Emma (full size):

First thing I noticed when I opened the quad was the strong, generic eye shadow scent.
But once you get over that, the shades are quite beautiful.
Very pigmented colours with a smooth texture to them.

You have all the shades you need in the quad, 3 matte shades and 1 shimmer shade to complete an entire eye look, day or night, which makes it great for travelling with or if you need to apply on the go.
The Emma quad would look stunning worn during autumn!

RRP: $22.50.

Paula's Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum (sample):

A very rich serum packed with antioxidants to help combat wrinkles and assist in repairing the skin from damage.
I don't have any major concerns with wrinkles as of yet however, I like to include this serum in my night time skin care routine and just apply it around my eye area.
If you suffer from fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage or disclouration from breakouts, just apply a few drops of the serum onto clean skin and neck before your moisturizer.
For use during the day, make sure to apply a broad spectrum SPF over the serum as the retinol makes your skin sensitive to the sun.
It's suitable for all skin types and it's 100% free of fragrances and colourants.

RRP: $52.

Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss in Sugar Lips (full size):

I don't usually go for light pink lip colours but I think I can make this work in summer and spring time!
It does have a slightly sticky formula and does feel a bit thick and heavy on the lips however, it's an opaque formula that goes on nicely and isn't patchy or drying on the lips.
Can be worn over your natural lip colour or over a lipstick of your choice.
If you'd like the true colour of the lip gloss to show, just block out your natural lip colour with some foundation and apply the lip gloss over the top!

RRP: $21.

Marsk Certified Organic Eyeliner in Pitch Black (full size):

A creamy, pigmented eyeliner that can be used anywhere on your eye!
Whether you're a winged liner lover or a smokey eye lover or you're just crazy about eyeliner all together, this will help you create whatever look you're going for!
It contains natural ingredients and it's talc, paraben, fragrance and GM free.
Be sure to sharpen the pencil before application for best results!

RRP: $33.50.

I've been a member of Lust Have It for a couple months now and I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoy their beauty boxes as well as the quality of the products.

It's a great way to discover new brands or brands you might not have heard of.
And as a beauty enthusiast, learning about new brands is a pretty exciting thing!

You get more than what you pay for in each box so I'd definitely say it's worth the money.

I would easily recommend Lust Have It if you're looking to subscribe to a beauty box.
I'm very satisfied with their products and their level of customer service.

New At The Drugstore

Hello lovelies, hope you're all well!
So, I went on a little hunt to see what was new in store.
And I found some goodies that I'm excited to share with you!

Australis Metallix Eye Shadow:

If you love metallic eye shadows then definitely give these a try!
They leave a metallic foil finish which will really make your eye look standout!
For best results, apply an eye shadow primer to the eye lid which will ensure it lasts all night with real intensity.
You can use your finger or a brush to apply, it is totally up to you.

They come in 6 shades, I purchased Gold Gaga and Guns And Rose Petals.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation in Vanilla:

I was blown away by the texture of this foundation.
It feels smooth and soft on the skin.
It's a lightweight formula that gives you a medium-full coverage finish.
I love the squeeze tube, it just makes it a lot easier to dispense the product.

Keep an eye out for a full review!

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow in Raspberry Tangy:

A nice tinted lip balm with a subtle raspberry taste.
It's moisturizing, leaves a glossy finish and it's fuss free.
You just wind it up, apply and you're done!
Perfect if you're in a rush or if you prefer minimal makeup.
They come in 4 yummy shades too!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hr Powder in Light Porcelain:

First of all, 25 hr powder seems a bit over the top.
Who really wears their makeup for over a day, I certainly don't!

That to the side, it's a nice face powder.
It's smooth and has a fine texture.
It claims to be waterproof and can be used wet or dry.

Klara Cosmetics Reset Gel:

I'm all about looking after my skin and when I read that this gel mimics a
microdermabrasion treatment, I was quite eager to try this out!

For those of you who aren't familiar with microdermabrasion, it works by exfoliating the surface layer of the skin and removing dead skin which leaves skin looking brighter and feeling smoother.
This product is different to anything I've used before.
You rub the gel into your skin with no rinsing required and just moisturize afterwards as per usual.
I've used this a few times already and so far I'm enjoying it.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss in Love Bug:

A great lip gloss that wears comfortably on the lips.
It doesn't feel thick or sticky at all.
It contains Argan Oil and Vitamin E which is a plus!
Love Bug is just a sheer gloss with silver shimmer throughout.
Can be worn alone or over the top of your favourite lipstick.
I think this will look gorgeous in summer!
They're available in 8 different shades so take your pick!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Ivory:

If there's one thing I dislike about foundations, it's when they don't come with a pump dispenser.
This is one of those foundations.
You just can't control how much foundation you want to use so if you aren't careful, too much pours out of the bottle and it can become quite wasteful.
I tend to go for matte foundations because of my skin type.
Wearing dewy foundations with my oily skin just results in me looking like a greasy mess!

I will have a full review for you on this foundation so stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed the read!
