Brand Focus | L.A. Girl

L.A. Girl Cosmetics are an American based brand who offer great quality products at very affordable prices. In Today's post, we're focusing on 5 of their makeup products for your eyes, face and lips so let's get into it!

After all the good things I had heard about the HD Pro Conceal, I was very eager to give it a try for myself! I really like this concealer, it does a wonderful job at camouflaging my imperfections and dark under eyes without any creasing. I'm in the shade Porcelain and it is perfect match for my fair skin. The texture is actually very lightweight, it melts into the skin with how easy it is to blend and the finish is just lovely. It has a brush tip applicator which makes it very easy to use, especially on the go!

Next up is the Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick in the shade Hush. It's a nice pinky-nude shade but it doesn't apply smoothly. Because it's a matte lipstick, it drags along your lips a bit but it's not at all uncomfortable to wear. It does contain Shea Butter for hydration so it's not at all drying. You can barely feel it on your lips and the texture is really soft to touch, just like velvet. The pigmentation is also nice and it has a sweet scent to it. There are 26 shades to choose from in the range so if you're on the hunt for an inexpensive matte lipstick, definitely check out their range!

Left to right: Blushing & Hush.

A product that I'm not very impressed with is their High Definition Eyeshadow Trio. I picked up the shade Framboise and I'm not sure if it's just that shade alone or the entire line, but it's just lacking pigmentation which is a shame because the colours look beautiful. I tried swatching them but the colours just weren't picking up, so unfortunately this particular product was a let down for me and there are other drugstore eyeshadows on the shelves that are of higher quality.

The Glazed Lip Paint looks absolutely gorgeous on the lips! It's very rich in colour and the glossy finish makes your lips look so plump. The shade Blushing is a deep, berry red that would suit all skin tones. For a gloss formula, it doesn't feel sticky or thick on the lips in the slightest and it contains Peppermint Oil for that minty tingling feeling. It isn't long lasting so if you're planning on eating and drinking, it will wear off. I think the packaging is cute but I find that the application can get messy, so I think the best way to apply it is with a lip brush for precision. Overall, a great lip product for the price!

The 5th product I have to share with you is their Velvet Contour Stick, which is a new collection that they have released and it includes 3 highlighters, 10 blushes and 3 bronzers. I have one of their Hi-Lite sticks and it's in the shade Cashmere. It is the perfect highlight shade for fair and tanned skin tones. I like to use this on my forehead, nose and chin for a soft, natural highlight. The powdery consistency feels so silky and luxurious, it blends beautifully into the skin. It is also formulated with 4 skin loving ingredients; Cocoa Seed Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Shea Butter and Grape Seed Oil. I'd love to get my hands on Radiance, it looks like it would be a stunning cheekbone highlight!
