10 Minute Makeup

When I'm running late with only 10 minutes to spare, I like to keep my makeup minimal by choosing which products I really need and which ones I can set aside. These 8 makeup products are staples in my makeup bag and are all I need when I'm in a hurry to head out the door.
After I've cleansed my skin, I like to begin with a face primer to provide me with a smooth base to work with and to also help extend the wear of my makeup throughout the day. The Tone Adjusting Green Primer by E.l.f. is suited to anyone who struggles with redness however, it doesn't do all that much in terms of counteracting that. It has that silicone texture which I love because it helps to combat my oily skin, fill in my pores and it doesn't emphasize any dry patches. Foundation just glides over the top of this primer with ease and it requires very little effort to blend in flawlessly.

I rarely go for hydrating foundations but what I like about the Models Prefer Argan Infusion Natural Foundation is that it is packed with skin loving ingredients like Aloe Vera, Macadamia, Grapefruit as well as 100% Argan Oil and that's only naming a few. It blends very well into my skin, doesn't feel heavy and the coverage is quite nice. I like to apply it with a damp makeup sponge and the finish it leaves is just lovely and dewy. The squeeze tube makes it really easy to dispense the product without any mess or fuss and you can control how much or how little you'd like to use, which is very time saving.

Concealer is a step I never like to miss even when I'm in a rush because I have dark under eye circles that need attending to. Chi Chi's 3 In 1 Eye Concealer is specifically for the eyes as it helps to brighten and conceal the area while reducing the appearance of puffiness. The doe foot applicator makes it really easy to use under the eye area and it blends nicely without caking or sinking into fine lines.

Next up is a face powder. Mattifying powders are my most used powders to help keep the oil away and Maybelline's Matte Maker does a great job at that. I make sure to powder my t-zone to set my foundation in place and help control my oily skin. I also like to powder my under eyes to prevent any creasing or fading that may occur during the day. It adds a bit of extra coverage to your base which is always nice and it's a great one to blot with to remove that unwanted shine.

I have fair lashes so I like to bring them back to life by applying two coats of mascara on my top and bottom lashes. It gives you the appearance of wide awake eyes and it just enhances your overall makeup look. The Classic Glam Black Mascara by Napoleon Perdis does a beautiful job at combing through and separating my lashes, giving me that defined look. The curled wand helps you get right in those hard to reach corner lashes and also adds a bit of a curl. The formula isn't too dry so it builds up really well without clumping or giving you that spidery effect.

Foundation makes my eyebrows almost disappear so when I don't have the time to fill them in with a pencil, I just quickly brush through them a few times using a brow gel and it makes all the difference. I love Essence's Make Me Brow; It's inexpensive, it has tiny fibres to fill in any sparse areas and it shapes your eyebrows incredibly well. The wand is small in size which makes it very easy to work with so you don't have to worry about getting any product all over your skin.

Blush brings back some colour to your face and 'Orgasm' by Nars is just one of those iconic shades that looks stunning on anyone. It's a gorgeous peachy-pink shade that just gives a lovely, healthy hue to the cheek. Pigmentation is amazing so be sure to use a light hand and it has the perfect amount of gold shimmer in it which looks very flattering on the cheeks.

The lucky last product is lipstick. Make Up Store's 'Bittersweet' is a nude-pink that's one of those 'your lips but better' shades. It's not overly pigmented, it's just one of those no mess no fuss lipsticks that you can just put on and go. They contain avocado oil, jojoba oil and shea butter for a creamy and moisturising finish to the lips. They have changed the packaging on this particular shade to more of a squared tube with an embossed crocodile-esque print on the lipstick which looks very cool.
