Review | YSL All Hours Foundation

I'm back today with a foundation review that I am most excited about as this is quite new from YSL and it has some serious claims, like the formula being waterproof as well as transfer-resistant. So I have put it to the ultimate test and I'm here to give you my honest opinion (as always!) on whether or not it's a total must-buy.

DESCRIPTION
All hours 24-hour advanced formula won't cake, dry, flake or fade. Transfer-proof, oil-free and non-pore clogging, this foundations stands up to makeup meltdowns by combining move-with-you flexible pigments and skin-loving ingredients for better flawless coverage and skin that feels fresh and comfortable day to night.

Instantly blur and erase imperfections, pores, dullness and unevenness. Skin looks flawless up to 24 hours thanks to the highest concentration of ultra-fine, oil absorbing pigments that cover and smooth perfectly yet resist fading, heat, humidity, dryness and touch.

PACKAGING
Very simple and sophisticated design and there's just something about a frosted glass bottle that makes a product look 10 times more luxurious. The iconic YSL logo is stamped on the front of the glossy black lid and it also comes with a pump for easy dispensing. It is 5ml shy of the standard 30ml in volume but I'm not bothered by it in the slightest because with all the other foundations that I have on rotation, this will definitely last me the entire year.

FORMULA
The consistency is a little on the thick side but it's very workable and it's also oil free and non-comedogenic (won't block pores) which is fantastic for oilier skin types. It's dermatologically tested and contains an SPF of 20 to protect your skin from the sun's rays.

COVERAGE
It claims to be a medium to full coverage foundation and I absolutely agree with that. Two pumps gave me one layer of almost flawless coverage (I still had blemish pigmentation peeking through), but it did a lovely job at evening out my skin tone so all I needed was some spot concealing. You can build up the coverage in certain areas if need be without it looking too heavy and it applied incredibly well with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

FINISH
I truly love the soft matte finish this foundation leaves on my skin and my complexion just looked amazing. It was soft to the touch and it looked oh so smooth, even over those pesky zits. There was zero sign of oxidization and nor did it emphasize any of my skin imperfections which is pretty impressive, and at this point I knew I was onto an absolute winner!

LONGEVITY
I wanted to give this a fair chance so I wore this over a primer and lightly set it with a face powder. Around the 5 hour mark, my makeup still looked on point. It didn't separate or wear off around my t-zone where I tend to get oily, and surprisingly I didn't really feel the need to blot away any shine because it kept it all at bay. I was glad to see that it didn't crease anywhere on my face (including my smile lines) and I didn't notice any kind of fading or transferring for that matter. I also did the waterproof test and it didn't even budge so I know this will hold up very well in high temperatures.
