My AM Skincare Routine

Four years ago (and only a couple months into my blogging journey) I shared my morning skincare routine, so I think I am just a smidgen overdue on an updated blog post. Some of these products are fairly new to my AM regime while others have become a daily staple, and I have also reunited with my beloved Origins Ginzing Eye Cream.

BOSCIA PURIFYING CLEANSING GEL

There's nothing better than cleansing your skin after all of that overnight oil and grime build up and as I've used up my Soap & Glory 3-In-1 Daily Vitamin C Facial Wash (which I totally recommend by the way), I thought I would try my luck with a cleanser by a brand that's very new to me. I picked up this up on a whim at Sephora simply because I saw the word 'purifying' and I was sold! The key you'll find ingredients are hydrangea leaf to purify, green tea to help prevent free-radical damage and botanical amino acids to eliminate impurities whilst protecting our skin's natural moisture barrier (basically it doesn't strip or over-dry the skin). Overall, a really pleasant cleanser to use and I love how fresh and clean this makes my skin feel in the morning.

KIEHL'S POWERFUL-STRENGTH LINE-REDUCING CONCENTRATE*

As I've only just hit 30, now more than ever I need all the anti-aging help I can get and this little serum packs a serious punch! Formulated with 12.5% vitamin c with the addition of hyaluronic acid, this concentrate works to reduce lines, improve texture, boost radiance and hydrate the skin. I like to apply this all over my face after cleansing and you get a warming sensation as you're blending it into the skin which is quite nice. It's lightweight, not greasy in the slightest (it has that silicone texture to it), makes my skin feel super smooth and hopefully with continued use, my skin will have less visible hyper-pigmentation due to acne and more of a youthful glow. But, so far so good!

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW PINK JUICE MOISTURIZER

I have been lusting over this for many months (mainly because I drool at thought of watermelon and it also sounded incredible!), so you could imagine my excitement when Mecca Maxima began stocking it only recently. I was pretty quick to snatch one up without hesitation and it is absolutely divine. It's essentially an oil-free, weightless, gel-like moisturiser (it almost feels like water) containing watermelon extract that deeply hydrates skin for a natural radiance. Being a glowy moisturiser I wasn't sure how this would work with my oily skin type, but this brings life to my skin with that lit-from-within youthful glow without making it oilier, and my face feels SO supple thanks to the hyaluronic acid. Believe the hype because this truly is a beautiful product and one I can see myself repurchasing time and time again.

MECCA COSMETICA SPF 50+ SUPERSCREEN

The days of thick, greasy and skin whitening sunscreens are long gone and what makes this particular one so great is that it's infused with wonderful ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin e and pomegranate extract. So not only does it provide broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays, it also doubles as a skincare product. I love the matte finish it gives me and it behaves really well under makeup too! I have repurchased this many times since making a daily habit of applying sunscreen everywhere I go (even in Winter or if it's miserably cloudy outside), and it's an absolute holy grail of mine.

ORIGINS GINZING REFRESHING EYE CREAM

After trying a bunch of different eye creams over the years in the hopes of discovering one I adore, I have found my way back to this gem because the others didn't compare - it's just that good and boy have I missed it! The way it instantly brightens my under eyes is the perfect pick-me-up in the AM and it makes me look awake, refreshed and ready to take on the day. It's all thanks to the hard-working ingredients including coffee bean, ginseng and magnolia that also help to de-puff and combat the signs of fatigue under the eyes. It does a good job at hydrating the area as well and although it's not a miracle worker by any means, it definitely does help make me look less zombified and I simply cannot recommend it enough. I don't want to part with it again!
