New Beauty I've Been Swooning Over

I've recently accumulated some new beauty bits and while a few of them had been sitting in my wish list for months (like Stila's Heaven's Hue Highlighter - total love heart eyes), the others had sparked my interest and I must say, I have been mighty impressed!

BARE MINERALS BLEMISH RESCUE MATTIFYING PRIMER

Since I don't have a specific face primer for bad skin days (I normally just grab my trusted Optical Illusion Complexion Primer by Urban Decay), I thought it may be a good idea to look into one. The very first thing that caught my attention and pretty much sold me was the blemish-busting ingredients of zinc, sulfur and kaolin clay which I know work an absolute treat when my skin is misbehaving. I really like the lightweight gel-lotion consistency - it feels like I'm applying a skincare product and it smooths over texture incredibly well. It also has a green tinge to help neutralize redness and I love the way it mattifies without drying out my skin like the Sahara Desert. If you have acne-prone skin I definitely recommend checking this baby out. I did not expect to enjoy this primer as much as I do and now I cannot be without it!

REVLON CUSHION LIP TINT

The product that came to mind upon first application is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (which I adore by the way!) with its lightweight, soft and creamy texture except less matte so it dries down to more of a blotted lip finish. I am all about that nude lip life and Pretty Kiss is the perfect my lips but better shade. You can build up the colour to the intensity you desire, but I personally love a tinted lip and the addition of coconut oil in the formula really helps to nourish your lips for all day comfort. This beauty has become a handbag staple and it's just a pleasure to wear.

THE BODY SHOP HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL MASK

I was in the market for a new face mask and I don't believe I've ever tried one from The Body Shop so I was quite determined to change that. Their Purifying Glow Mask definitely sounded like my cup of tea and after a couple of uses, I am a massive fan! It's a very thick clay mask that's infused with bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and organic tea tree oil - all the things my oily and blemish prone skin NEED. It has a strong tingling effect once you apply it (I was worried at first until it hit me that it's supposed to do that) and I like that because it feels like it's working its magic deep into my skin but beware, snacking with this mask on proves to be a difficult task as it sets like cement! The results are clearer, healthy looking skin that glows and works similarly to Glamglow's Supermud Mask minus the hefty price tag. I can actually see myself repurchasing this mask over and over again!

NARS VOYAGEUR PALETTE

As gorgeous as NARS' palettes are they are always way above my budget ($49 for this is still kind of steep but oh so worth it!), until their Voyageur range released and 'Nectar' was love at first sight. It holds six dreamy warm tones in a variation of matte, shimmer and satin finishes for creating the ultimate summery/everyday look to nighttime glam. Each shade is inspired by destinations around the globe and the compact size makes it super convenient while traveling. The versatile formula can be applied wet or dry and the overall quality is nothing short of amazing! I'm talking rich pigmentation, long-lasting, velvety texture and blendability. What more could you want?

STILA HEAVEN'S HUE HIGHLIGHTER

There's a reason Kitten is the most lovable shade by Stila and this particular highlighter will give you the glow of the gods! The putty texture is quite cool with how bouncy and creamy it feels to the touch - definitely unique and dipping your finger into it is a lot of fun! It glides on over the skin so smoothly and because the powder is ultra-fine, it looks natural and absolutely heavenly. Applying it with a brush will give you a more subtle glow so if blinding is what you're after, I suggest building it up and the great thing is it won't feel thick or heavy on the skin. I am obsessed with how it looks when it catches the light and the nude-pink is very flattering on fair skin too.
