Currently Coveting

My "dirty thirty" milestone is fast approaching and while some may be petrified of the inevitable, I am quite content with the fact (mainly because to most people I still look twenty one - winning!). So to celebrate the big 3-0, I rounded up a bunch of items varying from clothing to accessories and of course beauty and makeup to include in my birthday wish list as a little treat to myself.

Most of these pieces have been sitting in my Saved Items list on ASOS for a while waiting for a guilt-free reason to splurge, and the limited edition NARS Summer Lights Face Palette is here just in time and I have to say, it is a mood.

NARS SUMMER LIGHTS FACE PALETTE

Normally I would cringe at the sight of a $90 palette simply because it's a luxury I refuse to succumb to, but you only turn thirty once and that's a perfectly valid reason to get a bit spendy. I am loving the whole Moroccan desert vibe this palette is giving me with the packaging, the embossing on the powders, the shade names and the colours are right up my alley! It features four matte and shimmering eyeshadows, a warm champagne pearl highlighter and a matte neutral bronzer called to create a versatile look. Each shade is designed to be used anywhere on the face which makes it a fantastic multi-purpose palette.

ASOS DESIGN BROWN PLEATED MIDI SKIRT

I will always opt for a midi skirt over a mini any day of the year and I think what really drew me in was the gold metal buttons - I just love details like that. I pictured wearing this with a tucked in beige roll neck jumper and black ankle boots for an Autumn/Winter look. Throw on a coat and I'll be all nice and toasty while looking sophisticated and stylish.

RECLAIMED VINTAGE MULTI ROW NECKLACE

If you asked me years ago if I prefer yellow or white jewellery, the answer would be the latter (I felt like it suited my fair complexion more than gold did). Now, however, I am just about covered in gold jewellery and at times I even like to mix metals with rose gold, white and yellow for something different. The current vintage trend is definitely one I can get behind and I never follow a trend unless I am truly into it (I avoided the double denim and jelly sandals comeback at all costs, but each to their own). This beautiful four layered necklace has been screaming my name and I can see myself getting so much wear out of it with basic tees or a blouse to jazz up the outfit. It has pretty much every pendant I've been looking for in a necklace but all-in-one, and I especially love the shell!

BARE MINERALS DIRTY DETOX MUD MASK

As a beauty enthusiast, I am embarrassed to admit that I was completely unaware Bare Minerals had a skincare line until a month ago when I was browsing the shelves at my local Mecca Maxima. One of their products that stood out to me is the Dirty Detox Skin Glowing and Refining Mud Mask which sounds exactly like what my troublesome skin needs. Formulated with four mineral-rich clays, charcoal and papaya enzyme, they all come together to clarify, refine texture and provide your complexion with maximum vibrancy. Sounds good to me!

NEW LOOK BEADED CLUTCH

I didn't quite jump on board the beaded bag trend last year and I wholeheartedly regret it because they seem so hard to come by nowadays. This was love at first sight and I cannot wait to get my hands on it and wear it to absolute death! I think it's a lovely way to add an extra feminine touch to my outfits (day or night) and I like that it's not an overly formal style so I can wear it casually over my shoulder with the silver chain strap, or detach it and wear it as a clutch on its own during a special event. Also, the pink beads are just adorable.

STILA HEAVEN'S HUE HIGHLIGHTER

Highlighters are one of my favourite makeup products and what excited me about this particular one is the unique bouncy-to-the-touch powder texture. It's described as an ethereal out-of-this-world glow with a barely-there feel and I am totally sold! We all know their shade 'Kitten' (nude pink) is a cult classic with how universally flattering it is on the skin, so I think this would make a wonderful addition to my makeup bag.

ASOS DESIGN PETITE JUMPSUIT

Anyone who is around 5'2" knows the struggle in finding bottoms that don't hang inches off your feet but not to worry, because ASOS has come to the rescue with their petite range (hallelujah!). I know that's old news and I only began scrolling through their range recently when I couldn't find a jumpsuit that caught my eye or actually fit me in the right places (petite girl problems, am I right?). Since I'm trying to incorporate more lighter tones into my wardrobe, this cream toned jumpsuit ticks all the boxes and the best thing of all, it has pockets! I like the cropped length and the button through design. It's a winner!
