Adapting My Beauty To The New Season

Winter is well and truly here (a lot sooner than I or my wardrobe had anticipated), so in this abrupt seasonal shift I have switched up my beauty regimen to adapt to the cooler temperatures with nourishing skincare, a winteresque highlighter and a statement lip combo that gives me serious Lily Collins vibes.

KORRES WILD ROSE MOISTURISING & BRIGHTENING CREAM

This face cream is a little richer in texture than I'm used to (I'm all about those gel, lightweight formulas for my oily skin) but in saying that, it's what makes it perfect for this season when my skin needs a moisture boost from the low temperatures. Although it is quite a hydrating cream, it's not too heavy greasy on my skin whatsoever. The corn powder is what helps to absorb oil and reduce shine for a more matte finish whilst rose, a rich source of Vitamin C, works to brighten your complexion and fade discolouration. I love how plump it makes my skin feel and the scent of rose is divine!

OFRA LIP LINER

I wouldn't dare rock a vampy lip without wearing a lip liner underneath to ensure my lip colour looks pristine, and Ofra's 'Wine' allows me to fill and create a sharp line so effortlessly. Not only that but it prevents any sort of feathering and extends the wear of my lippie all together. This shade just so happens to be a match made in heaven when used in conjunction with 'Rum Raisin' by Revlon.

REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK

Super lustrous is exactly right with its creamy, moisturising and smooth formula that glides over the lips. 'Rum Raisin' is like a brown-mauve that definitely stands out against my skin tone and it is extremely opaque which is great because some deep shades can apply very patchy. Certainly not a colour I am brave enough to wear during the day but for a night out paired with smoldering eye makeup, that's a look I can totally see myself wearing during Winter for a dark and mysterious grunge vibe.

L'ORÉAL NOURISHING SUGAR SCRUB*

Normally I prefer using gritty face scrubs as I have quite problematic skin (blackheads, acne you name it!), but this cold weather has had me wanting to use one that's a little more gentle and nourishing on the skin. The three key ingredients featured in this particular scrub are Cocoa Butter that is very rich in essential fatty acids, Coconut Oil to protect the skins barrier and Cocoa Grains to remove dead skin cells. I find that this helps to balance my skin as it can tend to become slightly more combination rather than oily in Winter, plus it also works amazing as a lip scrub and mine are SO prone to dryness/flakiness.

MODELCO REPLENISHING ROSE FACIAL MIST

I have been really enjoying this as a on-the-go skin re-hydrator when those harsh cold winds suck the life out of my skin. A quick spritz and you immediately smell the Damask Rose which helps to balance sebum production and restore my complexion. The addition of Pomegranate and Acai fruit extracts provides protection against environmental factors and free radicals. It doubles as a makeup setting spray too which is always handy. The only thing I'm too much of a fan of is the tacky feeling on the skin once it sets, but it's still a lovely face mist nonetheless.

ILLAMASQUA BEYOND POWDER HIGHLIGHTER

'Deity' has a unique gold-green shimmer that adds a beautiful iridescent glow to the skin. The powder itself is incredibly silky smooth and so fine that it blends seamlessly over the cheekbones without emphasizing skin texture. It layers really well if you want a blinding highlight or you can lightly sweep it for a natural yet ethereal finish. It adds a touch of warmth to my skin, but surprisingly it doesn't look strange against my snow white complexion and I think it would look stunning during springtime too. It's definitely a striking, one of a kind highlighter shade by Illamasqua.
