PACKAGING

If you remember the original Infallible Foundation, it's basically the same packaging design with the glass bottle and pump dispenser. It's sleek, practical and nothing flashy.

FORMULA

It's the Goldilocks of formulas - not too thick or too thin, it's just right. It has a slight scent to it but it isn't overpowering so once it settles into the skin, you don't notice it. The formula blends like an absolute dream with my foundation brush without leaving any streaks behind and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin whatsoever.

COVERAGE

L'Oréal claims that this foundation delivers full, flawless coverage and I definitely agree with that to an extent. It hides majority of my imperfections (like my redness and uneven skin tone) but my stubborn dark spots still peek through, so I do need to spot conceal here and there to achieve a perfect base. I wouldn't recommend layering it on too much because it can look cakey in some areas making it obvious that you are wearing foundation.

FINISH

I would say this has a matte finish to the skin but without it looking flat or dull - it really does look fresh just as described. I didn't notice it cling to any uneven texture on my skin or sink into my fine lines and it feels very comfortable to wear, so they certainly weren't lying about the texture being lightweight and breathable!

LONGEVITY

Ah, the good ol' oily skin wear test. Around the 4 hour mark, my natural oils slowly began peeking through but it hadn't separated the foundation or moved it around so it still looked pretty darn good. I did, however, notice that it would transfer, particularly if I touched my face so it's not completely transfer-proof which is a shame (I applied a primer and set it in place with powder too). It surprisingly holds up well against water though which is good to know so you won't risk looking like a total hot mess on a rainy day.

PROS

Comfortable
Lightweight, breathable formula
Great coverage
Water resistant
Stays fresh all day
Blends nicely
Hydrating
Long wearing
Lovely finish

CONS

Can look cakey if not careful
Oxidizes slightly
Not transfer proof
Limited shade range (in Australia anyway)

FINAL THOUGHTS

The one thing I am disappointed with above all else is that all 30 shades haven't been released (I believe there's only 10 to choose from), so this foundation won't cater to many skin tones unfortunately. The formula is beautiful, it looks great on the skin and it hides most of my blemishes/imperfections, however it did oxidize over time and it does transfer (could be due to my oily skin type) so it may look slightly patchy if you're a face toucher. It still wears well throughout the day and I love how light it feels on the skin. Overall I think it's a good foundation, not amazing. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, so I do think it's worth giving it a try to see if it works for you (perhaps wait for a sale that way it won't be a total waste if it doesn't - I know I would!).

  1. I really love this foundation, it works beautifully on my dry skin. Very good wear time for me, but definitely needs to be set with powder. I had to order the lightest shade from overseas, which I'm used to doing with drugstore foundations now. But it's something I really want to see brands improve on in Australia. I can't just walk into a chemist and try my shade in foundations or concealers. Would love more range here. Really great review!
