Nothing quite brightens up the complexion like a good highlighter and this illuminating palette provides the perfect finishing touch to any makeup look. There was a lot of buzz about this gorgeous palette last year but now that it has finally made its way down under (better late than never!), I get to experience what all the hype is about it and share it with you in today's post.
The Strobe of Genius is a palette for the highlighter obsessed and includes seven stunning shades ranging from golds, pinks and bronzes that will give you the ultimate glow. Highlighting and strobing are still very on trend and the fact that this illuminating palette contains such a variety of wearable shades at an affordable price, I'm not surprised that this received so much love within the beauty community. Also, it's NYX and you guys know I am one of their biggest fans so this was an instant must-buy!

Each shade is just as amazing as each other in terms of colour payoff and with how velvety-smooth they are in texture. The pearly as well as the shimmery shades are nothing short of lovely and they look very flattering on the skin, especially when the light hits those cheekbones.
For an all-over face highlight the soft gold and the champagne shade work well for my skin tone, but the icy lavender shade is simply perfection and by far my favourite. It's quite cool toned which complements my fair skin beautifully, and it's unlike any highlighter shade I own. The warm bronze shades would look absolutely stunning on deeper skin tones but for fair/medium complexions, they would make for fantastic eyeshadows and they are so blendable!
It's truly a great versatile palette and I can definitely see myself using it for either eyeshadow, a warm shimmery bronzed glow or as an all-over highlight with that fabulous purple/blue. The only thing I would've liked this palette to have is a mirror as it would make it that little bit more travel friendly. But aside from that, I think NYX have nailed this palette in every way and it's really such good value for money. It would make a great addition to anyone's makeup stash!
