If I had to choose between the liquid or the traditional bullet lipstick, I would go for the latter but that's not what this post is all about. We are talking about liquid lipsticks, which have taken over the beauty industry and I've got a good handful of them to share with you today.
You simply cannot go wrong with a classic nude and 'Birthday Suit' is a gorgeous wearable shade for any time of day/night. The formula is super lightweight yet creamy and pigmented at the same time. It is ultra matte but not too uncomfortable on the lips and the staying power is just incredible! It's become a lot easier nowadays to find nude tones that don't completely wash me out, which is very good news for anyone with fair skin and this one is definitely a winner.
Even though these say 'matte', they don't dry down to a true matte finish and can feel slightly tacky which is the only downside for me. Apart from that, these are rich in pigmentation and have such a velvety soft consistency that applies so beautifully over the lips. You have a great selection of shades to choose from for whatever mood you're in and they are relatively true to colour as well. I really like the packaging of these liquid lipsticks - they have a sleek feel to them and they smell absolutely heavenly.
I'm not sure if these were ever released here in Australia (I could be wrong!), but I picked up 'Blushing Ambition' on vacation last year and I think it's a lovely product overall. The applicator is quite unique and the pointed tip makes it easier to line your lips, especially if they are a bit on the thin side. The colour pay off is great however, it's not the most long lasting liquid lipstick so you will find yourself having to reapply often. They feel nice on the lips as well and aren't drying whatsoever. I don't love the name of these lipsticks simply because it's so contradicting, but I think that was the main reason why I became intrigued by them.
I mentioned this in my latest brand focus and it definitely lived up to my expectations. One swipe gives you intense opaque colour and it never looks patchy or streaky. It provides your pout with a full matte finish that lasts all day, and doesn't transfer onto everything your lips touch. The formula is enriched with Vitamin E and avocado oil which makes it amazingly silky. These are 100% worth the buy and very comparable to high-end brands in terms of quality.
