Makeup For Oily Skin

Having oily skin can be frustrating and difficult to manage, I know all about it. But thankfully, there are a great number of makeup products out on the shelves targeted at oily skin types. They help to keep the shine away so our makeup can stay matte and flawless all day long. These 6 makeup products are what I rely on when I need my makeup to last for hours at a time with minimal blotting and touching up throughout the day.
Primers are a great way to prep your skin for your foundation as it provides you with a smooth, silky base and it'll also help with the longevity of your makeup. Rimmel's Stay Matte Primer has a lightweight formula that minimizes the appearance of pores and helps to keep my makeup matte for a long period of time.

I love a good makeup setting spray and one that I can truly rely on is Urban Decay's De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray. I like to use this just after I've applied my primer and then again once I've applied all of my makeup as the final step. I find it helps to control shine a lot better by setting my primer in place. It's a very fine mist with no real scent to it which I don't mind because some setting sprays can be heavily fragranced. It really does prevent your makeup from sliding around and melting off your face. I've tried some drugstore setting sprays but they just don't do enough in keeping the oil away so I'm always going back to the De-Slick. It is on the pricey side but it's the only one that I've tried so far that never lets me down.

The Infallible Matte Foundation by L'Oreal Paris is an amazing drugstore foundation! It says that the formula is waterproof, I've tested that out for myself and I 100% agree. It just doesn't budge and I'm amazed at how full coverage yet light it feels on my skin! It just glides on and it really does stay put all day long. It is formulated with 1/3 water which is why it's so blendable and comfortable to wear. It does a wonderful job at controlling shine and keeping me matte for as long as possible without touch ups. I like to use a beauty sponge to apply this foundation because it just gives me a lovely, flawless finish. A brilliant foundation to wear on those hot Summer days or even for a night out on the town.

When I need incredible staying power and a full coverage finish, I reach for MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer. It covers dark under eye circles without creasing and a little goes a very long way! It's also great for camouflaging blemishes as well as any discolouration you may have. I really wish they would change the pump dispenser. You barely have any control over the amount of product you want to use and it can become wasteful. Besides that, this concealer is a must have, especially for us oily skin types. It will last you through high temperatures and long days!

If you're someone who has oily eyelids, an eyeshadow base or eyelid primer is the way to go! I really like Essence's I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base. Because the product is flesh toned, it acts a bit like a concealer by covering any redness or veins you may have on your eye lids. You can definitely wear it alone or under your eyeshadow to prolong the wear of it and enhance the shades you're using.

Face powder is always something I carry in my handbag for touching up on the go, and the Matte Maker Mattifying Powder by Maybelline really helps to extend the wear of my makeup with minimal shine throughout the day. It's a fine, light powder that adds a touch more coverage to your base without caking up and it leaves my skin feeling smooth.

What are your oily skin makeup must haves?
