The Gold Edit

Whether it's the packaging or the colour of the product itself, I'm just a sucker for gold and rose gold tones of makeup. In today's post, I have 5 gorgeous makeup products ranging from eyes, lips and nails to share with you including mini reviews so let's get started shall we?!

First up is a single eyeshadow by Clarins called Ombre Minerale in the shade Petal. This is my first purchase from Clarins and I love this eyeshadow! It's a very subtle pale pink shade that is perfect for day to day wear. It's very smooth to touch and apply, and it can be used wet or dry depending on the intensity you desire. It also has a slight shimmer to it which will look so beautiful when the sun hits your face. I adore the packaging, it is so cute and compact. It comes with a handy mirror, as well as a sponge tip applicator for use on the go. I like this eyeshadow so much that I want to buy more of their makeup! Their products just look so classy and elegant which really draws me in.

Dream Sequins from the Triple Shine range by Sally Hansen is a gorgeous rose gold glitter that can be built up and worn alone or over the top of your favourite nail colour. I like to use this as an accent nail colour and it looks amazing with a white or grey shade of polish. It just adds that extra sparkle and really enhances the overall look of your mani. I like the consistency of the polish. It's not too thick or thin and it applies really well. The brush is a lot more wider so it does make it easier to cover your entire nail with only 1-2 swipes, but I'm just not a fan of that size of a brush. I find I have more control with a slimmer brush and I'm less likely to get it all over my skin. That's just my personal preference but the actual nail polish is fantastic!

Australis' Metallix Eyshadows are of incredible quality for drugstore prices! They are pretty much a dupe for Stila's Magnificent Metals Foil Eyeshadows except much more affordable and they give you the same metallic finish. Gold Gaga is one of my favourites from the range and I love using it for creating a really glam eye look, and the foil formula is so richly pigmented! It's also very soft in texture and a little goes a long way! I like to use an eyelid primer prior to application for best results and to ensure that it stays put all night long. If you love metallic eyeshadows, I definitely recommend these. They are just excellent quality for the price.

The Rose Gold Lipstick collection by Makeup Revolution is relatively new and I couldn't resist another nude shade so I picked up the popular Chauffeur and I am obsessed! A girl can never have enough nude toned lipsticks, they just go with everything and this has become one of my favourites. First of all, the rose gold tube is to die for and the product itself is simply amazing! It truly is a perfect nude and the consistency is ever so creamy. Glides over your lips with ease and it's very comfortable to wear. Great colour pay off as always and it leaves a lovely sheen to your lips. The colour is a pinky-brown with a sort of grey undertone and it's unlike any lipstick I own. If you're on the hunt for a beautiful, inexpensive nude lippy you must get your hands on this one!

Stila's Eyes Are The Window Eyeshadow Palette in Spirit has been a long time love of mine. The first thing that drew me in was of course the luxurious two-tone gold and rose gold compact. The shadows were and added bonus because they are just so lovely. This stunning palette holds 12 of Stila's most iconic shades including the cult favourite 'Kitten'. Another thing that makes this palette so precious is the quote inside which reads, "Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." - Leonardo da Vinci. You have 2 matte shades and the rest are shimmers with beautiful pigmentation and high quality. Very versatile palette as well with light to dark shades so you can easily transform your look from day to night in a flash. It is on the higher end of the scale but everything about it is so worth the money. An absolute winner of a palette!
