Sparkling and Glowing Makeup for the Holidays

There are three days out of the year where I like to drench myself in sparkle and shimmer and they are my birthday, New Year's Eve (obviously) and of course Christmas. You can glam up any way you please during the holidays, but I like to stick to the traditional colours of silvers and golds. It's all about sparkling foiled eyeshadow, layers of shimmery highlight and a deep plum lip for the ultimate festive makeup look.

MODELS PREFER FOIL FINISH CREAM EYESHADOW

It says foil finish and foil you will get! This quad in 'Gold Rush' features four complementary shades with intense metallic pigment and the silver definitely gives me Tin Man vibes (which is in no way a bad thing!). Because they are a creamy foiled eyeshadow, I find the best way to apply them is with your fingertips by layering it on for a high-impact metallic shine. You'll find gold, champagne, rose gold and silver shades in this quad that will definitely get you Christmas party ready with their stunning reflective finishes.

FLOWER BEAUTY POWDER BLUSH

Normally I would wear a blush like 'Warm Hibiscus' during the Autumn season but when I swatched it, it resembled the NARS cult-favourite Orgasm and we all know how beautifully flattering that shade is! It adds such a lovely radiant warmth to the cheeks with its golden reflect so it instantly livens and brightens your complexion with just one sweep. A very soft powder that blends smoothly across the skin and once again, mighty impressed by Flower Beauty (I wrote all about the brand here).

NUDE BY NATURE MOISTURE SHINE LIPSTICK

You simply cannot go wrong with a red lip for the festive season however, I've opted for more of a berry tone like 'Deep Plum'. What I love most about Nude by Nature's lip products is the colour-rich formula that feels nourishing and moisturising on the lips which make them incredibly comfortable to wear. The creamy texture combines natural ingredients including vitamin e and the native Australian kakadu plum, as well as shea butter and jojoba oil. It may not last through Christmas lunch and cocktails, but it is a very luxurious lippie so I wouldn't mind reapplying one bit!

COVERGIRL SUPER STUNNER PALETTE

I was blown away by how silky soft these highlighter powders are (for a drugstore palette anyway!), and the shades are absolutely perfect for anyone with a fair/light skin tone. The level of pigmentation is amazing and they apply like a dream over the skin. I like that instead of it being an over-the-top shimmery highlighter, it's just gives you a gorgeous glow and you can take it from subtle to blinding in a heartbeat. Easily my favourite product out of the bunch.

REVLON CRÈME GEL EYE LINER

Add a pop of golden sparkle by smudging out '24K Gold' under the lash line or create a soft wing for a minimal yet still festive eye look. The velvety gel-cream pencil glides on like butter thanks to jojoba and vitamin e, so there's no tugging or dragging along our delicate eye area. If you're not a big makeup wearer (or you simply don't have the time) then this is a great way to add a little something to your holiday look.
