August Favourites

As each month passes, I am slowly becoming more and more excited about the most wonderful time of year - Christmas of course! How was your August? Mine was pretty relaxed, but I do have some exciting new beauty bits to share with you including a face mask that is just delightful!

COVERGIRL MELTING POUT MATTE LIPSTICK

Upon application this matte liquid lippie looks quite streaky on the lips and dries slightly sticky, so at first I was worried that I would look like a total hot mess! However, the odd streakiness disappeared and it looked completely opaque and once you give it a good couple of minutes for it to settle, it is 100% budge proof with a lightweight matte finish. 'Ballerina' (nude-pink) is one of those shades that I simply cannot stay away from and against my fair skin it looks look a wearable deep mauve. The formula reminds me of the NYX Lip Lingerie's which I think are fabulous so if you're a fan of the super matte lip look, then I think these will be right up your alley!

GROWN ALCHEMIST DEEP CLEANSING MASQUE

Since I was running out of my beloved L'Oréal Pure Clay Mask (which has been SO good for purifying my skin), I thought I would get to know a new brand called Grown Alchemist. What I really admire about this botanical beauty brand is that their products are free from harmful chemicals, preservatives and their antioxidant rich formula fights free radicals. The sebum-balancing white clay is infused with wheatgerm to purify pores, gingko is to help soothe redness and rose absolute is for minimising pore size so overall this mask is great for decongesting the skin. Every time I use this my skin feels ultra smooth, clarified and without over drying my skin like most clay based masks can sometimes do. It's an absolute pleasure to use and the soft rose scent is just lovely.

ESSIE GROW STRONGER BASE COAT

Always prior to painting my nails I'll apply a coat of my trusty Revitanail Nail Strengthener to promote stronger nails and prevent breakage, but lately I've noticed that it has been doing the complete opposite so it was definitely time to ditch it and try something new. On a whim I purchased Essie's Grow Stronger Base Coat (since I'm a big fan of their nail colours I had high hopes for this one) and I have to say, I am pretty impressed so far! Not only does it not leave you with that yellow-ish tinge that Revitanail does on your nails, it hasn't left them looking dry and brittle which I'd say is all thanks to the Vitamin E in the formula. It protects my nails really well, dries super fast and my nail colour applies beautifully over the top. Very happy with the results this base coat has given me and if you also struggle with weak nails, I'd recommend this beaut over Revitanail any day!

I hope you had an amazing month!
