Skincare That Works While You Sleep

I love the feeling of waking up to amazing skin (don't we all!) which is what makes these particular products such massive overnight heroes. The wonderful ingredients of Australian pink clay, retinol, lactic acid and lush butters work to nourish, clarify and exfoliate my skin while I catch up on my beauty sleep.

EDIBLE BEAUTY PURIFYING SLEEP MASK*

My oily, blemish prone skin adores a good clay-based face mask to draw out impurities and mattify the skin. When I'm not using my beloved Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask (which I am almost out of), I will slather this all over my face after cleansing and let it work its magic overnight. The dreamy mousse-like consistency is quite unique in the way it adds a mattifying effect whilst keeping my skin feeling well hydrated, and the scent is absolutely divine! Something that completely blew me away about the avocado oil in the formula is that it works to reduce the activity of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase by converting testosterone to DHT, one of the hormones linked to excess oil production and acne (the more you know!). The results are a soft, radiant and clearer complexion by morning. It truly is luxury in a jar.

GO-TO SUPER HANDY

I'm sure many of you can relate to being put off by ultra thick, slimy hand creams that will leave a literal hand print on anything you touch (oh and the impossibility of turning your door knobs). Thankfully, Go-To's Super Handy is neither sticky or greasy so it absorbs extremely well into the skin and it is like a treat for my hands. I keep this on my bedside table as a reminder to use it each night and I wake up to super soft, deeply nourished hands. I also like to rub it into my nail beds and cuticles after a bath/shower when they're looking a tad dry and the combination of shea, capuacu and butters do absolute wonders to bring moisturise back to them.

THE ORDINARY LACTIC ACID 10% + HA

AHA's are a part of my nightly skincare routine in one way or another, whether it's Neutrogena's Pore Refining Toner or The Ordinary's Lactic Acid 10% + HA. I will add a few drops to my clean dry skin, gently massage it in and follow up with a moisturiser. The addition of Tasmanian pepperberry really helps to reduce signs of inflammation and sensitivity associated with facial acids, and it definitely works because not once have I ended up looking like a ripe tomato. Does a brilliant job at mildly exfoliating my skin leaving it looking brighter and feeling smoother. Like always, their products are amazing for such a low price point.

GLOW RECIPE AVOCADO MELT RETINOL EYE SLEEPING MASK

This tiny jar of avocado goodness packs an absolute punch with the powerful ingredients of avocado, retinol, coffeeberry, niacinamide and squalane. They all provide the under eyes with antioxidants such as vitamin e and c and intense hydration to combat wrinkles. This eye mask also works to plump and firm all while I lay asleep, so by sunrise my under eyes look de-puffed with less noticeable dark circles. A super luxurious and dreamy eye cream that I think is 100% worth trying (pick up a sample if you can!), especially if you're concerned about fine lines/wrinkles or dark circles.
