Making 2020 My Year

It's the end of a decade and the beginning of a new one and although the past couple of years haven't been the best they could've been, I am determined to make 2020 my year for greatness, success and pure happiness.

I gave up on new year resolutions a long time ago because I find them to be a little daunting and I end up putting too pressure on myself to achieve them, so what I have done instead is created a relaxed list of steps/goals for a more fulfilling year.

1. Find inspiration

Towards the last half of 2019 I was feeling creatively uninspired and was struggling to come up with content for the blog and producing photos constantly became difficult. Finding inspiration online, from magazines and aesthetically pleasing Instagram accounts had become a great source of inspiration, but what I really needed was to get out there in the world and capture it (I also might've just needed a guilt-free break). Melbourne is also overflowing with inspiration so perhaps more visits are in order!

2. More staycations

As a full-time blogger I don't get out of the house much and I become a tad stir crazy (which is the reason for my creative block in step 1). Packing an overnight bag and going on weekend trips will give me time to unwind and regain my thoughts before returning to a new week feeling refreshed and (hopefully) bursting with creativity.

3. Read books

As a teen I was heavily into fantasy novels like Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series and of course Twilight (I am not even remotely ashamed to admit it), but as I grew older I lost interest in that genre and haven't found a new one since. I actually walked into a bookstore with the intention of purchasing a good book, but I had no clue what I was looking for and I walked out empty handed. Help a girl out and let me know what's on your reading list/bookshelf because I am clearly struggling!

4. Focus on me

For a long while I haven't been feeling 100% myself and this new year I choose me. I need to take more care of me and do things that are good for me and my wellbeing. More self-care, more of doing what I love and hopefully less anxiety too because it has been a real pain in the backside! I want to feel lighter, perkier and unapologetically me again.

5. Blog like I've never blogged before

Last year I gained the courage to put myself out there and pitch to brands and it was a complete success!. I'm aiming to do much more of that throughout the year and continue building and growing my little space on the web. I am beyond excited to see what amazing opportunities will come my way so bring on 2020!

What are your goals for the new year?
