Review: Bloom Foundation Stick

Hello lovelies!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
I have a product review to share with you so I hope you enjoy!

A little background on Bloom Cosmetics:

Bloom is an Australian beauty brand founded in 1993. Their products consist of quality botanical ingredients such as Evening Primrose, Jojoba oil and Orange Blossom.

Unfortunately, Bloom only have two shades of the foundation stick. Base 1 (A lighter tone for pale skin) and Base 3 (A neutral mid tone).

It's a medium to full coverage foundation, containing Jojoba and Rice Bran Oil to soothe and hydrate the skin.

Firstly, I like the packaging, it's nice and sleek. The colour matches me well and I would say it is a medium to full coverage foundation but buildable. So if you feel the need to apply a bit more over blemishes or redness, you can absolutely do that without it looking too heavy.

I didn't find that it caked up in any areas of my face or sink into pores which is a big positive.

Shade Base 1

Keep in mind that I didn't apply any products that would prolong the wear of the foundation as I wanted to see how it coped on its own.

Surprisingly, it didn't cling to any dry patches on my skin.

It lasted pretty well throughout the day without any sort of primer, setting powder or finishing spray.

I've found the most effective way to apply it is straight from the stick to your face and using a makeup brush to blend it all in.

The Zoeva 102 brush does an excellent job of blending in creamy foundations.
I purchased mine from, http://www.beautybay.com/.

Pros
Non drying formula.
Lasts all day.
Doesn't crease, sink into pores or fine lines.
Great for travelling.
Easy to apply, especially if you're in a hurry.
Buildable coverage.
Mild scent.

Cons
Only two shades therefore would not suit many skin tones.
I feel there are other foundations on the shelves that would give you the same great results and with more shades to choose from.

Overall, I think this is a lovely foundation.

I like that it contains botanical ingredients to assist in hydrating the skin.
I haven't had the best experiences with foundation sticks as they've all been too drying so I was pleasantly surprised.

Winter Beauty Essentials

It's that time of year again where we dig through the back of our bathroom drawers and bring out our most moisturizing and hydrating products to help our skin survive this cold season.
Here are my favourites!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:

If you have combination/oily skin like myself, this moisturizer is great!

It's moisturizing enough to keep you hydrated but not too moisturizing where it leaves you feeling too oily.
This also makes your makeup look much better if you're someone that has trouble with foundation clinging to dry patches on your skin.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate:

This face oil is packed with goodies!
I was a bit hesitant on applying more oil on my skin but it actually eases the amount of oil my skin produces.
I use this if I need a complexion boost and this certainly does that.
It is on the pricey side but you only need to use a couple drops so it'll last a while.
So don't be afraid to give it a go, your skin will love you for it!

Soap & Glory Hand Food:

Hand cream is a must have during winter.
I can always rely on Soap & Glory's Hand Food to moisturize my dry hands.
It has that lovely recognizable scent from their other products and it doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy at all so it's perfect for use any time of the day.

Victoria's Secret Forever Pink Hydrating Body Lotion:

It has a beautiful feminine scent and contains aloe, oat and grapeseed extracts as well as vitamins E and C.
Makes your skin feel oh so smooth and soft!

e.l.f. Studio Lip Exfoliator:

Nobody likes that dry, chapped lips feeling that winter gives us which is why I use e.l.f.'s Studio Lip Exfoliator and it works a treat!
It's very gritty in texture so if you don't like that about a lip exfoliant then this may not be for you.
It's infused with shea butter, avocado, vitamin E, grape and jojoba oils to soften and condition your lips.

Hurraw! Vanilla Bean Lip Balm:

I like to follow up with a lip balm after I exfoliate my lips.
It smells like true vanilla and tastes just like it too!
Their lip balms are organic, vegan and contain raw ingredients.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in Berry Much:

This shade of lipstick is my go-to during the winter season.
It has a semi-matte finish however, I would recommend applying a lip balm before hand as it can feel a touch drying.
Pigmentation is fantastic and it lasts all day.
It's very bold so if you love bold, you'll rock this shade!

Tip - To create crisp edges along your lip line, try lining your lips with a lip liner of a similar colour or use a lip liner brush and use the same lipstick which will distribute the colour evenly along your lips.

Revlon Nail Enamel in Timeless:

Just because it's freezing, doesn't mean we can't have pretty nails!
This is one of my favourite shades that I like to wear in winter.
It applies beautifully on the nail and no streaking!
