RIMMEL BROW SCULPTING KIT
This tiny compact comes with a wax as well as a powder formula and two tools which has been incredibly handy for travelling. I prefer a cool toned brow so I carry the shade 'Medium Brown' with me and it is such an easy, no-fuss product to use! The powder is extremely soft so it applies and blends nicely through the brows over the tinted wax for a full, defined brow. I usually either comb through my brows with a fiber gel mascara (L'Oréal's Brow Artist Plumper is in my top 5) or fill them in with a pencil, but I am really enjoying this little duo at the minute and I LOVE the fluffy effect it gives me!
I've been steering clear of pot concealers for years because I found them to be heavy, greasy and overall an unpleasant makeup experience (the way they would crease under my eyes was very cringing). However, with all of the positive reviews going around in the beauty world, I would be crazy not to give this particular pot concealer a chance and boy am I glad that I did! The coverage is nothing short of amazing and it looks absolutely FLAWLESS on the skin. It never creases under my eyes nor does it cake up and it sits nicely over blemishes without accentuating them. The creamy, velvety texture is unlike any concealer I have used and it has easily become a big time favourite of mine - top 3 at least!
L'ORÉAL LIFE'S A PEACH BLUSH
Nothing quite like a peachy cheek for the Spring season and it even smells like the delicious fruit too! From L'Oréal's Wake Up & Glow line comes this warm toned blush in the shade 'Peach Addict' with the tiniest micro shimmers to give you a natural glowing look. I find peach blushes to really complement my fair skin and it instantly livens and brightens up my complexion with the most perfect flush to my cheeks. The powder itself is ultra soft and smooth, and a light sweep with my go-to fluffy Blush Brush by Real Techniques softens and diffuses the colour for a natural day time makeup look.
MECCA MAX SKIN HALO DIAMOND DUST
The more I wear this highlighter, the more I adore it. 'White Gold' adds an icy white pearly beam to the cheekbones and it is so flattering on the skin. It doesn't look like much in the pan, but it totally transforms upon application for a pretty lit-from-within glow. The finish is definitely more on the subtle side but it does layer up quite well for a blinding effect and the way it melts into the skin is absolutely beautiful! It's not glittery, chunky or too shimmery - just a smooth, natural glowing highlight.
REVLON CREME EYESHADOW
These pots of creamy colour are my favourite things to use when I can't be bothered going all out on an eyeshadow look (yes, I am THAT lazy). The mention of cream and eyeshadow in one sentence might make you cringe because back in the day they were a creasing, greasy mess, but not anymore! What I like about the shade 'Espresso' is that it adds some colour and depth to the lids for an effortless, day to day look or it can double as a base for a smoky eye. There's no need to worry about priming your eye lids beforehand or having to set it to prevent creasing - it's that easy to work with. It's a nicely pigmented shade of brown and it applies smoothly over the lids using your fingertips. A few coats of mascara and my lazy eye makeup look is complete!
In my What I've Been Loving This Year So Far blog post, I talked about how I've been putting off the purchase because of its hefty price tag but since July, it has been very well loved! Not only does this lip balm have the prettiest luxe packaging of them all, it also enhances your natural lip colour with the loveliest rosy pink hue. My lips are left feeling well hydrated with a subtle shine and the sweet scent of marshmallows is truly divine.
RIMMEL FIX & PROTECT MAKEUP PRIMER
A great basic primer for everyday with an anti-pollution, anti-stress, skin perfecting formula with the added benefit of an SPF of 25 to shield our skin from the sun's harsh rays. I like the way this primer illuminates my skin for brighter looking complexion and although it does contain SPF, it doesn't leave that greasy residue behind which is something I seriously cannot stand so I definitely appreciate that! It has quite a runny consistency and it can make you look pale if you apply too much (luckily I don't have that issue). This won't take care of enlarged pores however, it does a create a smooth canvas for your foundation and it does prolong the wear of your makeup.
MAYBELLINE MATTE MAKER POWDER
I was sifting through my face powders and I rediscovered this oldie but goodie by none other than Maybelline. I had forgotten how silky soft this pressed powder is! My skin feels exactly like velvet, that's how finely milled it is. I like to dust this over my entire face to set my base in place and it also adds a touch more coverage for a flawless matte finish. If there's one thing I dislike about this powder, it would have to be the screw top lid so for me the packaging is a bit flawed but that's just me being picky and it's what's on the inside that counts!
YSL ALL HOURS FOUNDATION
I took a break from fuller coverage foundations for a while there but as soon as I needed it, this gem was the one I would not hesitate to reach for and it is STILL just as amazing as I remember (you can catch my full review here). I am obsessed with the how it makes my skin look completely airbrushed (like somebody Photoshopped me) and it doesn't look or feel heavy at all. This foundation used in conjunction with the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer are a match made in heaven for the most perfect base that looks incredible every time - especially in photos! It's my holy grail and I absolutely swear by it.
L'ORÉAL PARADISE MASCARA
Of course this is in my makeup bag because I honestly cannot part with it. I personally think this beats the cult favourite Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced which is a pretty big deal if you ask me! It never flakes, it lifts my sad lashes and makes them look super fluffy and it volumises incredibly well so for me this is my ideal mascara. I think this is on par or maybe even slightly better than my trusty Maybelline Lash Sensational which is hands down one of my most-loved mascaras ever. Very much worth the hype and it met all of my expectations so it's a definite makeup bag must-have.
