Review | Australis Don't Sweat It Foundation

I haven't come across many drugstore water resistant foundations, so I actually got really excited about this new release by Australis. And with Summer just around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to get this review out there on this brand spanking new foundation.

This hydrating and creamy foundation will go the distance. A medium to full coverage water resistant foundation. With added antioxidants and vitamins, this fragrance free water resistant formula is the perfect long wear foundation.

Big W

Very simple black packaging with pink text, and also comes with a pump which makes it a lot easier to dispense how much product you want to use. It holds a standard 30ml worth of foundation and it's also not tested on animals (much like their entire range of products) which is a wonderful thing, especially if you're against animal cruelty.

It has a thick and creamy consistency which is why I prefer using a damp makeup sponge to apply and blend the foundation into my skin, as it can dry quite quickly. I feel like it makes the finish of my makeup less heavy and mask looking as well. It also spreads more easily, evenly and smoothly over my skin.

I would definitely say it's medium to full, as it claims. It does a great job at covering redness and evening out your skin tone, giving you a flawless base. If you have any blemishes poking through, just dab a bit of concealer and you're good to go!

It dries down to a matte finish which I personally like, and doesn't latch onto dry or flaky areas of my skin. It didn't really emphasize my pores too much either which is a big plus. In terms of shade matching, Australis don't have the greatest range especially for fair skin like myself. So that's something to consider when purchasing this foundation. BUT if you have a shade lightener or darkener (like their Match Maker Shade Adjusting Drops), then say hello to an almost perfect shade!

I have worn this all the way through dinner to the early hours of the morning, and it actually held up extremely well. I did have to blot and touch up slightly with my oily skin, but that's how it is with any foundation I use. The foundation stayed put and looked amazing throughout the night, although I will say that it did cake up around my smile lines so perhaps I'd have to apply less around that area to avoid that. The big question is - is it truly water resistant? You betcha it is! I did a water splash test and not a single bit of foundation dripped down my face, so I am VERY impressed. Even when I dabbed/gently wiped the water off my face, there was barely any transfer. So you don't have to worry about looking like a hot mess whenever you sweat in the Summer heat. And if you're someone who likes to wear makeup to the pool or beach, then this will have you covered.

Pump dispenser
Long lasting
Great coverage
No oxidization
Water resistant
Contains Vitamin E
Not tested on animals

Limited shade range
Slight caking/creasing

I think this is a great foundation from the drugstore and a must-have for the upcoming Summer temperatures, as it will keep you looking flawless without any sort of melting. The coverage is medium to full so it hides imperfections quite well, which makes it perfect for blemish prone skin or anyone with scarring. It also has really good lasting power so you can rely on it to stay put all day long. The shade range is a bit of a let down but if you don't mind putting in that little extra effort into lightening or darkening it to match your skin tone, then this is a fantastic foundation to add to your collection.
