The Drugstore Lipstick Edit

As much as I adore high-end beauty, I'm a drugstore girl at heart and nothing gets me more excited than lipstick. Today's post is all about 7 affordable lip products that I am totally loving right about now and would make great additions to your makeup collection.

Being a fan of Revlon's Ultra HD Lipsticks, I thought I would give their Ultra HD Lip Lacquers a try and I am so impressed by them. One swipe of this lacquer just gives you intense pigmentation without feeling sticky and heavy on the lips. Rose Quartz is a muted red that leaves a beautiful shimmery finish and is easily one of my favourites out of the 15 shades.

Touch of Spice (nude-plum) by Maybelline from the Color Sensational Creamy Mattes range is by far the most favoured shade. Matte lips are still quite the popular look and the formula actually is creamy but matte at the same time so it's not drying at all which is pretty amazing. I definitely recommend this line if you're a lover of matte lipsticks.

I love a pink based nude and the It Girl Stay-On Lip Liner by Chi Chi is just perfect. The creamy texture makes it very easy to apply with high colour pay off. I've worn this alone all the way through dinner and drinks and it stayed put all night. Are they long wearing, waterproof and smudge proof? Absolutely! These lip liners are a steal!

Rimmel's Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine is relatively new here in Australia, and I've been reaching for it a fair bit during the Winter season because of its moisturizing properties. It is deeply hydrating and the non-sticky formula makes it comfortable to wear as well. Better & Brighter is a very sheer nude that I love to pair with a more opaque nude lip colour to add a bit of a shine, and it works wonderfully.

I was looking through my lipsticks and realized that I didn't own a single one by L'Oreal, so I had a little browse at their range and went for the Color Riche Moisture Matte lipstick in Cherry Crush. This is a lovely vibrant pink shade that is perfect for Spring and Summer and contains jojoba oil that leaves your lips feeling hydrated. I love the velvet matte finish and it lasts a good while on the lips too.

The Lipfinity by Max Factor had me intrigued with the double ended colour and gloss. I must say, I actually really like it! Gleaming Coral has an orange-red colour with a shimmery peach tone as the gloss and together they make this gorgeous shimmery coral shade. Amazing colour pay off and very flattering on the lips. I am truly a big fan of this product!

Lucky last is another massive favourite of mine and it's the Lip Lingerie by NYX in the shade Push-Up. The formula of this liquid lipstick is so weightless and leaves a plush matte finish on the lips. It can feel a touch drying but it doesn't flake whatsoever and it's quite long wearing as well. I have featured this in a few of my blog posts because I am that obsessed with it and I cannot wait to get my hands on more of their shades!
