A Few Drugstore Loves | January

How many months are in January because it feels like it's never ending, am I right? But let's push that unexplainable mystery aside and let's talk new drugstore loves.

I kept seeing these all over Instagram last year and I was convinced that I needed them in my life. I can confirm that these lippies are very much worth fussing over because the ultra soft, velvety texture is actually to die for! I couldn't resist the shade 'Flaming Rose' which is a gorgeous flattering mauve (no surprise there!), and I quite like the teardrop shape as it's super helpful for us who weren't so blessed with full lips. The level of pigmentation is fantastic and the matte finish never feels drying.

I don't reach for a lot of Revlon's products but their Youth FX line had me intrigued (also because Gwen Stefani's face was all over the display, so naturally I gave in). I picked up a handful of bits from the range, but so far I've only gotten around to trying their foundation and I have to say, it's pretty great! It didn't blend well at all with a brush - it looked streaky, patchy and strangely cakey (likely due to the thick consistency), so I've found the best way to apply it is with a damp makeup sponge. It sheers it out and melts into the skin much better for a flawless medium coverage finish. I know this is aimed towards mature skin and I'm not quite there yet, but it does something magical in how youthful my complexion looks so it's a definite winner!

Founded by the stunning Australian model Jess Hart, her brand is all about skin-loving and multipurpose products which I am 100% all for. With Summer in complete full swing, I've been opting for minimal makeup products to enhance my natural beauty for a fresh faced look. What I love about this is it's a 2-in-1 and 'Muse' is such a soft nude-pink that adds a natural hue to the cheeks and lips. You simply blend it in with your fingertips and that's as labour intensive as it gets! From the beautiful packaging to the skin loving formulas, I have absolutely fallen in love with her brand and I don't think I'll be using anything else for a while.
