I feel like September really flew by for me, which is odd because it wasn't a particularly eventful month. Actually, as I'm writing this it has just dawned on me that it's almost time to start my Christmas shopping (eek!). Now back to what this post is all about, I have a good handful of beauty products that I have been thoroughly enjoying this September, so enough introductions and let's dive right into it!
I've found Essie's Maximillian Strasse-Her nail colour to be a great transition shade from Winter to Spring, as it's more of a cool tone grey-green that I think is very well-suited to the season. I love how Essie are always on trend by releasing seasonal collections, and there is just an infinite amount of shades and finishes to choose from for whatever mood you're in. The formula of their polishes are lovely and apply so smoothly however, they aren't long wearing so they chip quite easily. BUT they have come out with a no lamp and 14 day wear Gel Couture range that I am super eager to try.
I've been liking the e.l.f. Tone Correcting Powder recently to set my makeup in place, because the powder is so fine, soft and lightweight on the skin. It helps to stop my under eye concealer from creasing throughout the day and prolongs the wear of my makeup also. I haven't noticed it to do all that much in terms of tone correcting, but it's a lovely inexpensive face powder nonetheless. It's nice and compact that also comes with a mirror which makes it great for carrying in your handbag for touching up when required.
A product that has been a big favourite of mine this September is the Kora Organics Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm by Miranda Kerr, that I was so excited to receive in the September Bellabox. I love the formula of this balm because it's not sticky or thick in the slightest, and your lips just feel so soft and hydrated. The packaging is pretty and simple, and the squeezable tube along with the doe foot applicator makes it really easy to apply on the lips. Her range of skincare are certified organic and absolutely jam packed with rich skin loving ingredients including Jojoba, Vitamin C and Rosehip.
Bourjois I feel aren't a very popular brand, at least not here in Australia but I could be wrong! I have tried a few of their products and they were a bit of a miss for me, but one that is a big hit is their Smoky Stories Quad Eyeshadow in Sau-Mondaine. The shades are beautifully pigmented and blend nicely across the eyes. The 3 outer shade shades have a lovely sheen to them, and the center frosty white is more shimmery which would make a perfect inner corner and brow bone highlight. All 4 colours complement each other well, so you could create an entire eye look with this quad alone. Whether it be a subtle day time look or a sultry evening look.
