Makeup Rediscoveries

The life of a blogger with a die-hard beauty addiction involves playing with lots of makeup (among other things), to then chat about them with my readers and bond over pretty products. When newer makeup comes along, the older ones often get pushed aside and become neglected for a while, but I did a dig through my drawers and rediscovered some gems that I have fallen in love with all over again.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA BUTTER BRONZER

I had missed the yummy tropical scent of this bronzer (think pina coladas), but there is much more to it than the smell. It's called butter bronzer for a reason; it feels like butter, applies like it and it looks absolutely beautiful on the skin thanks to the lovely Brazilian ingredient that is murumuru. If you look closely at the powder, you can see a soft satin sheen so it gives your complexion a gorgeous, natural-looking bronzed finish like you just came back from vacation at the Maldives. The tone of this shade is perfect against my fair skin - it doesn't look muddy or overly warm and it blends so seamlessly into the skin. If you come across this bronzer grab it, smell it, buy it and apply it. All in that order!

RIMMEL THE ONLY 1 LIPSTICK

Rimmel really know how to make a good lipstick and they are some of my favourite affordable ones out there. I own a bunch of their lippies from this range but I always reach for 'Mauve-Ment' because it is the most prettiest, wearable, soft mauve for everyday wear and it's super flattering on the lips as well. 'Naughty Nude' is also a good one to just throw on for a more put together look. Big fan of the lightweight, moisturising formula that feels comfortable all day long and the colour pay off is fantastic!

BARE MINERALS TRANSLUCENT POWDER DUO

I'm not sure what it is about Bare Minerals but their products have never really appealed to me, until I came across this duo. I used this just recently on a lazy makeup day and both powders are so beautiful in the way they enhance your complexion. The 'Matte' powder sets your base for an invisible matte finish whilst 'Glow', with it's marbled rose gold effect, adds a sheer luminosity to the skin that makes you look lit-from-within. These baked powders are incredibly fine and luxurious to the touch and I love packing it in my travel makeup bag for touching up throughout the night.

GUERLAIN MÉTÉORITES BASE

This luxe beauty is an absolute pleasure to use with it's pearly pink spheres and delicate floral scent. The micro shimmery particles in this primer instantly gives your complexion a boost of radiance without it looking like you tossed a handful of glitter on your face. It honestly looks so beautiful on the skin and it feels like you're wearing nothing at all. It's definitely a product to look into if you wanted to treat yourself and it looks gorgeous sitting on the vanity. It's very much Spring in a bottle and totally worth the splurge!

NARS BLUSH

I usually reach for whatever blush is in my vicinity at the time, but I felt like 'Orgasm' needed some love (after being buried so long in a pile of more blushes) and it is a cult classic for a very good reason! This peachy-pink has the most stunning golden reflect that looks incredibly flattering on a variety of different skin tones. It gives your cheeks a lovely flush to them with a luminous finish - it truly speaks for itself! It's the queen of all blushes and a total makeup bag must-have.
