A Spring Makeup Menu

We are down to the final month of Spring which I'm pretty sad about to be honest because I've never been huge on Summer. So before the season of beaches and bikinis arrives and makes me a hot sweaty mess, it's about time I bring you a Spring makeup menu filled with lots of pretty pink hues.

L'ORÉAL TRUE MATCH ILLUMINATING POWDER

For day to day, this highlighter is one that I reach for quite a bit when I'm wanting to achieve a subtle boost of radiance to the skin. 'Rosy Glow' has a soft pink finish that looks absolutely beautiful on fairer skin tones, and the shimmer is very fine which I much prefer over glitter explosion highlighters (for daytime anyway!). I like to swirl my brush over all three shades and focus application over my cheekbones, cupid's bow and brow bones which just helps to liven up my complexion for a natural looking glow.

RIMMEL SUPER GEL NAIL POLISH

'New Romantic' is a baby pink shade with fine shimmery particles in the formula that gives me major Spring vibes! It's a gel polish without the use of a UV lamp so you can have a longer lasting mani in the comfort of your own home for a fraction of the price (winning!). It applies like a dream over the nails and I really appreciate that the brush is wide so I don't have to use six strokes to coat my entire nail - it just makes it a little easier to get a more even and smooth finish, because there is nothing worse than a patchy and streaky manicure am I right?

REVLON ULTRA HD GEL LIPCOLOR

Another shade of makeup that adds to the ultra girly Spring vibe is 'Garden'. A vibrant pink that is incredibly moisturising with a glossy finish to the lips. I like to dab it on to diffuse the colour slightly for a more wearable look which gives me a sort of lip stain effect and it is SO stinkin' pretty! I find this shade of pink (and dabbing technique) to really brighten up my complexion without looking too clown-like against my fair skin. Pairing this lippie with a coat of masacra, blush and highlighter would be the perfect soft and sweet Spring makeup look for me.

GUERLAIN MÉTÉORITES BASE

When I think of Spring makeup, I think of fresh glowy bases and Guerlain has created a great one at that! I love how lightweight the consistency is and it leaves my skin looking luminescent. To my complete surprise, this doesn't make me oilier throughout the day which is a big positive for me and this bottle will last you FOREVER. As far as "colour correcting" goes, I don't see a difference at all but I ain't even mad because this is the most gorgeous primer you could ever own, and aren't they the prettiest pink pearls you have ever seen?!

COLOURPOP SUPER SHOCK BLUSH

This was love at first swatch and I understand entirely why this made it on their best sellers list. 'Birthday Suit' is a neutral pink shade that gives those cheeks a natural flush that won't clash with any makeup look you create. The formula is simply amazing for the price (cream powder with a satin finish that feels uber soft), and it looks airbrushed when applied with a duo fiber brush. If you haven't placed a Colourpop order yet, I strongly urge you to do so because the hype is definitely real!
