What's In My Makeup Bag | June

If you've been following my blog for a while you would know that I've been keeping my makeup routine fairly simple, so my makeup bag has been feeling quite light this June. The last time I gave you a look at what's in my makeup bag was way back in February, so it's definitely time to update you on what products I've been carrying around with me this month.

BASE

Urban Decay's Optical Illusion Complexion Primer is a little on the pricey side (a lot more than I tend to spend on a primer) however, I think it is totally worth it! It smooths my skin, blurs pores and hydrates while ensuring my makeup stays put all day long. I wore this along with the revamped Healthy Mix Foundation by Bourjois and my base looked absolutely flawless. I can already tell that this foundation is going to be in my makeup bag for many more months to come - that is how impressed I am!

I fell back in love with an oldie but a goodie that is none other than the Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I can't remember why I ever stopped using this one because it does such a beautiful job at brightening my under eyes, but I am very glad that I found my way back to it.

I am still amazed by how super soft the L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder is. It literally feels like velvet with its silky texture and it sets my base extremely well for a matte finish. I reach for this particular powder without even realizing it, so I think that's saying something!

EYES

As I'm writing this, I noticed that I didn't include mascara in my photographs (not because I haven't been wearing any, I just simply forgot *face palms*) but I will still tell you all about it because it is very much worth mentioning. The Bourjois Volume Glamour Effet Push Up Black Serum Mascara gives my lashes length and volume, and it doesn't flake off under the eyes during the day like some others I have tried. Not only that but it doesn't clump my lashes together and it makes them look look ultra black which is always nice. I feel like Bourjois are really underrated as a brand which is a shame because their products are truly lovely.

CHEEKS

'Sandalwood Pink' from L'Oreal's True Match Blush range gives my cheeks a pretty coral-pink hue that brightens up my complexion nicely. It's very smooth in texture and blends seamlessly into the apples of my cheeks for a gorgeous flush.

For a touch of glow, I then follow up with Colourpop's Super Shock Cheek in 'Lunch Money' that you might've seen me rave about on the blog a billion times by now. In case you haven't quite gotten your paws on it (I highly recommend you do!), it's this pearlized pale gold shade that looks utterly stunning on the cheekbones. If you're not crazy about shimmery highlighters, then you'll adore this one because it just makes you look absolutely radiant.

LIPS

The lucky last product in my makeup bag this June is of course another one by L'Oreal - their Infallible Sexy Balm in the shade 'Gossip' (sheer pink). When I don't want to wear a lipstick but I want a hint of colour on my lips, that's where these come in and they're great! My lips are left super hydrated after application which is perfect for the Winter season and they are just so effortless. I usually keep one in my handbag at all times for spontaneous outings when I need to look a little more put together.

What have you been carrying in your makeup bag lately?

  1. I love that Maybelline concealer! I have't used it in AGES so I'll definitely be getting it back out and using it again:)
