5 Lip Products You Need To Try

Apart from a good glowy highlighter, lip products are a close second favourite of mine because of how much of an impact they can make to your overall look. I could (almost) skip every makeup step and run out the door with just lippie on, so here are a handful of lip products that are definitely worth trying whether you're into matte or gloss.

REVLON KISS CLOUD BLOTTED LIP COLOR

I dedicated an entire post to these beauties (you can find it here), where I rave about these little matte numbers. The one thing I absolutely adore about these lippies the most is the beautiful formula; milk thistle, coconut oil and cotton seed oil play the part in the soft velvety finish that truly does feel like a cloud on the lips. Blotted lip colours are great for day to day or if you're achieving a more natural makeup look (think of them like a lip tint or stain), and they last quite well throughout that day with only minimal fading. I rotate through 'Spun Sugar', 'Cashmere Mauve' and 'Blush Much' so if you like love your nude and pink tones, I definitely recommend those particular shades.

LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK (GRAPEFRUIT)

Of course I had to see what all the fuss was about with this Korean wonder. It was a toss up between Berry or Grapefruit and I'm quite pleased with my choice because I really like the light citrussy scent. Technically this is an overnight treatment, but I also enjoy slathering this lip balm on during the day for intense hydration. It does have a thick consistency, however it's not sticky or heavy on the lips - it just gives them that plump, juicy look. It's amazing how well this stuff works on dry lips (thanks to the deeply hydrating ingredient called hyaluronic acid), so you'll wake from your beauty sleep with the most moisturized, softest pout ever!

FLOWER BEAUTY MIX N' MATTE LIP DUO

I love a good 2-in-1 product, it just makes putting on your makeup that much faster when you're in a rush. You can totally wear the creamy matte lipstick alone for the day time, or kick it up a notch with the matching pearlized gloss (which gives me mega 90s vibes) for a glam night-time look. For a matte finish, it's not drying or uncomfortable on the lips whatsoever and the colour pay off is fantastic! As for the gloss, it's not sticky or thick in texture and surprisingly not overly glittery or frosty either which I'm very happy about. 'Honey Nude' is one of those wearable, flattering shades that you just cannot go wrong with and an overall beautiful drugstore lippie.

REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK

Here I go with another Revlon lip product because to be quite honest, they are killing it in the lip department! I've been reaching for more shiny and nourishing lipstick formulas a lot these past few months and I have to say, Revlon have absolutely nailed that with the Glass Shine range from their Super Lustrous Lipsticks. 'Dewy Peach' had found a permanent home in my handbag for a while there until I decided to opt for a more pink tone rather than peach. 'Glassy Pink' is a gorgeous watermelon pink shade that just screams Spring and the lipstick-gloss hybrid is so lush! It has the moisturising properties of hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, the shine of a gloss (minus the tackiness) and the saturation of a lipstick.

M.A.C SATIN LIPSTICK

Who else remembers the 'Velvet Teddy' craze? I wanted to jump on that hype train so bad, but it was ALWAYS sold out! Although I never got around to picking one up, I'm quite happy with 'Faux' (muted mauve-pink). It is my lip colour of choice for evenings as it is a deeper shade against my fair skin, but I also think it'll really compliment medium complexions too! The creamy, satin formula feels great on the lips and the level of pigmentation is exactly what I expect from M.A.C. Their lipsticks are absolutely iconic and a definite must-try.
