Springtime Beauty

The past couple of days have been the epitome of Spring with warm temperatures and bees buzzing about, even as I'm typing this the sun is shining oh so bright and I am just soaking it all in! With the change in seasons comes a new makeup regime and we are ditching the wintertime hues for fresh, colourful and glowy so here are my top picks.

REVLON MEGA MULTIPLIER MASCARA

I like the idea of wearing a brown-black shade of mascara in the springtime as it gives you a more softer look than an intense black. This particular one by Revlon is in the shade 'Blackened Brown' and has a nice practical wand that allows you to reach right in the inner corner of your eyes to coat each individual lash. It contains tiny fibers to add more drama to your lashes and it separates and lengthens quite well to really lift the eye. It's not the most volumising mascara I've ever used, but I still love it nonetheless and it never flakes or smudges on me which is a huge bonus!

L'ORÉAL AWAKENING SKIN TINT

Despite the average-negative reviews of this product on the web, I think it is absolutely lovely! I will admit though, my first impressions were not great (it applied streaky and didn't sit well on my skin) but like with most BB/CC cream products they are most definitely better applied with your finger tips for a seamless finish. This skin-loving formula contains 92% natural ingredients (including apricot, camellia and shea butter which is amazing), and it gives your complexion the boost that it needs for the most fresh, luminous and natural look. The coverage is very light (hence why it's called a skin tint) however, you can slightly build up the coverage by dabbing it over the area to avoid it rubbing off or balling up. A touch of concealer, a dusting of face powder and you are good to go!

MODELS OWN HIGH SHINE LIP GLOSS

It's not a Spring inspired makeup look without some pink and the simplest way to add a touch of colour that is still totally wearable is with a lippie. 'Pink Sugar' doesn't look as bold and vibrant as it appears in the tube so it's more of a sheer wash of pink with a juicy, glossy finish that doesn't feel sticky or heavy on the lips. It's a really easy, no-fuss lip product to throw on and you can definitely build up the colour to intensify it if you're feeling the pink vibe.

MAYBELLINE SUPER STAY GEL NAIL COLOUR

Super stay is exactly right because these polishes truly last 7 days when used in conjunction with their 'Crystal Clear' top coat. One of their shades from the range that screams springtime to me is 'Hot Salsa' which is a super vibrant coral-pink that'll make your nails pop! The consistency is perfect - it's not too thick or thin and the wide brush applies the polish evenly over the nail in only 2 strokes. The colour is richly pigmented so it doesn't look streaky or patchy whatsoever. The only downside for me is the lack of shade options (there's only 4 unfortunately), but if you want a longer lasting manicure while saving some doe from salon visits then I highly recommend these (especially the shade 'Rose Poudre' - it's one of my personal favourites!).

BOURJOIS LITTLE ROUND POT BLUSH

These cute pot blushes are the just the sweetest and the rose scented powder smells like what I'd imagine a little French boutique to smell like. The shade that I am utterly obsessed with is 'Rose De Jaspe' with its rosy-pink hue and golden satin finish that looks beautiful on the cheeks. It has a velvety smooth feel to it and although it does apply quite sheer, it's very much buildable so you have full control over the intensity and it blends like a dream over the skin! Their blushes are definitely a standout!
