A Few Drugstore Loves | August

Nothing makes my heart happier than discovering makeup that I adore whilst saving money all at the same time (sometimes we gotta be savvy spenders!) and in case you have not yet noticed, the drugstore have been absolutely killing it! I've got 3 budget-friendly makeup bits for the eyes, face and lips that have been getting a lot of love lately and are very much worthy of a place in your collection.

MAYBELLINE MASTER PRIME PORE MINIMIZING PRIMER

Silicone based makeup primers are my preferred choice because of my oily t-zone and pore situation plus, I just love how smooth they make my skin feel which gives me a perfect blank canvas to work with. This primer contains "blurring powders" and I'm not entirely sure what that is but it certainly delivers that blurring effect for a soft-focus finish to your complexion. It smooths over fine lines and imperfections very nicely and it has a similar texture to Benefit's Porefessional Primer (thick, mousse-like consistency but super lightweight). It's also water-based so it doesn't feel oily on the skin and it won't clog pores. It's just a great all round primer from the drugstore and works equally as well as some pricier ones out there.

RIMMEL OH MY GLOSS OIL TINT

If you caught my What I've Been Loving This Year So Far, then you would've seen me rave about these wonderful lippies like crazy! 'Contemporary Coral' (coral-pink) is my most worn shade but 'Smart Pink' adds the slightest pink tinge to the lips for an ultra natural look. These are formulated with 4 precious oils including coconut and pomegranate for a well hydrated pout that doesn't feel slippery or greasy. It's so easy to just throw on - especially if you're having a lazy makeup day or you're in a rush to get out the door. I'm so in love with this line that I bought every single shade. You did good Rimmel!

L'ORÉAL PARADISE MASCARA

If you're a beauty junkie then you're probably already aware of this being a dupe for Too Faced's cult favourite Better Than Sex Mascara. For $8 less you pretty much get identical results and the wand also has that concave shape to it. It volumizes my lashes where it (almost) looks like I'm wearing fluffy falsies and it doesn't flake under my eyes like the Too Faced one can sometimes do. I don't find the formula to be too wet or too dry so application is a breeze and there's no clumping whatsoever! You don't need 12 coats to build it up to achieve that separated, full lash effect either so the hype is most definitely real and I highly recommend getting your paws on it!
