I wasn't planning on doing one of these posts because for many people it comes across as boasting but then I thought, I shouldn't have to feel bad for wanting to share the wonderful goodies I was gifted last Christmas. Being the self-confessed beauty junkie that I am, it's no surprise that I have a bunch of new makeup and skincare additions here in this haul so let's get this post rolling shall we?!
MECCA COSMETICA THE PERFECT PAIR LIP DUO (DAY)
These little pots contain the most luscious tinted lip balms I have worn in years! The two pairs are like sisters; 'Nude Sparkle' is a nude-beige with fine gold glitter while 'Sorbet' has a pink tinge. Both of them have this lovely marshmallow scent that I cannot get enough of and the shea butter, pomegranate seed oil and vitamin e in the formula make your lips feel incredibly hydrated and super glossy! I end up drenching my lips in the stuff they're that good!
BOURJOIS LITTLE ROUND POT BLUSH
Do not be fooled by the size of this blush because it packs a punch! It was love at first swatch with the shade 'Rose De Jaspe' and gives your cheeks a pretty pink glow. It has a soft velvety texture and the aroma of rose is how I would imagine a charming French boutique to smell like. Something worth mentioning is the magnetic closure which automatically gets extra points for simply out of pure satisfaction.
LUSH TWILIGHT SHOWER GEL
I've heard this is a HUGE fan favourite so I was excited to find it in 'The Man In The Moon' holiday set. The shower gel is a very deep purple (almost black) from the sweet tonka beans and the lavender scent is just so comforting and relaxing. It's an absolute pleasure to use right before bedtime, especially when following up with their Sleepy Body Lotion. If only I knew it wasn't available all year round because it truly does live up to the hype and I would have purchased multiple bottles!
L'ORÉAL COLOUR RICHE MATTE ADDICTION LIPSTICK
I really like the matte black textured pattern on the casing and the gold accent adds a very nice touch. I own a couple of lippies from their Colour Riche line and their formula is some of the loveliest! 'Retro Red' isn't your typical classic red as it has more of an orange tone to it, so it's a little less daunting for people who shy away from a bold red hue. It's beautifully pigmented which I expected nothing less and because it's been developed with camelia and jojoba, your lips aren't left feeling parched whatsoever.
TOO FACED BEST YEAR EVER COLLECTION
I simply could not resist the sheer cuteness of this set and I was lucky enough to get what I wished for last Christmas. Inside the adorable makeup case are three even more adorable face palettes, as well as a deluxe Better Than Sex Mascara which I am very much looking forward to trying and being blown away by. 'I Believe In Pink' comes with six gorgeous matte and shimmer shades and a bright hot pink blush. 'Natural Beauty' is filled with neutral tones that are right up my alley and the bronzer leaves a lovely satin finish to the skin. 'Super Fun Night' has your go-to nighttime shades including a matte black and soft golden highlight titled 'Dashing Through The Glow' (how clever?!). Some of the shades are a bit lacklustre but overall it's a wonderful collection.
LUSH SLEEPY BODY LOTION
After drenching my skin in the Twilight Shower Gel, I then slather this dreamy lotion all over me before bed and it just helps to relax me. It's hard to say whether or not it acts as a sleeping aid because I generally sleep pretty well but it definitely does make you feel calm, warm and ready to get some shut eye. It smells just heavenly with the lavender and tonka, and I would have to say this is my all time favourite body lotion by Lush. I highly recommend it!
REVLON COLORSTAY CRÈME EYESHADOW
I love cream eyeshadows for quick and easy makeup looks - they're just swipe and go without any mess or fuss. 'Blackcurrant' is a unique purple, silver, taupe shade all in one and it looks super pretty and shimmery across the eyes. This little pot has a built in tiny brush applicator for on-the-go which is always handy, but I prefer to user my fingertips to really build up the colour for an intense glam look. It doesn't fade on me and best of all, it doesn't crease so bonus points for that!
