New In | Sally Hansen Color Therapy

The concept of incorporating an oil into nail polish had me super intrigued and excited to try Sally Hansen's new Color Therapy range. If you haven't heard or seen these around at your local drugstore, you can read all about them in today's post where I'll be sharing my thoughts and whether or not I think they are a must-buy.

I picked up seven out of fourteen shades and there is quite a diverse colour range from lights to darks which is great because who doesn't love some variety.  As I briefly mentioned in the introduction, these beautiful polishes are infused with argan oil to provide your nails with intense nourishment and hydration.

'Slicks and Stones' really stood out from the bunch as it has this unique blend of purple and gold glitter against a deep brown base. It just screams party and New Year's Eve to me. Another shade that I think is absolutely stunning is 'Soothing Sapphire'. It's a midnight blue with a hint of purple along with tiny specks of pink so when your nails catch the light, they will look so pretty and mystical. The photos really do not do it justice!

These polishes claim to last up to 10 days without chipping or fading and I've read rather great feedback so I had very high hopes. The wide brush makes it very easy to apply by coating your entire nail in only one to two strokes and the formula is incredibly smooth. I've found that the lighter shades come off slightly streaky, but more so after applying a top coat as if it sort of moved the polish around and sheered it out a bit which was not ideal. It also began to chip/crack within a few days of application, and it took all night for it to completely dry which left my nails looking textured and smudged upon awakening.

I think the colours are lovely and vibrant with a good variety to choose from to suit any occasion. I do love the addition of argan oil in the formula and how smoothly the polish glides over the nails. I don't think this range is terrible and I will continue to use them, but they just didn't quite live up to the claims for me or meet my expectations.

What do you think of this range?
