4 Steps to a Flawless Finish

Achieving complexion perfection doesn't have to be a time consuming process involving a ridiculous amount of products, or require professional makeup skills to master. Today's post is all about how to nail your base using only four products so you too can rock seamless and perfected skin.

The key to a flawless complexion is skin prep; so once you've cleansed, exfoliated and moisturised you will notice a huge difference in the overall application of your base products, and the rest of your makeup routine from here on in will be smooth sailing.

STEP 1: PRIMER

First thing's first and that is to prime your skin with your favourite primer. My latest obsession is the fairly new Optical Illusion Complexion Primer by Urban Decay, that somehow magically blurs imperfections so my skin looks smoother and almost airbrushed. Not only does a good primer prolong the wear of your makeup, but it also makes your foundation apply more evenly for a seamless finish.

STEP 2: FOUNDATION

L'Oreal's True Match Foundation gives my skin a healthy and radiant complexion that I love to apply with a damp makeup sponge for a flawless and streak-free finish. It provides medium-full coverage that feels very lightweight and breathable on the skin.

STEP 3: CONCEALER

Hide the effects of a late night with a high coverage concealer like Rimmel's Lasting Finish Concealer. Pat a small amount under the eyes to camouflage any darkness which will instantly make you look brighter and like you had a restful sleep.

STEP 4: POWDER

To ensure your base stays in place, set it with a powder of your choice. One that I constantly have on rotation is the Bare Minerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo that are incredibly fine and silky in texture. Lightly dust it all over your face (focusing on the t-zone for oily skin types) and you voila! Say hello to complexion perfection!

What do you use to ace your base?
