Budget-Friendly Bases

Since a lot of affordable beauty brands have upped their game over the years, more and more people are realising that you don't need to spend an absurd amount of money to look utterly fabulous. Today it's all about the base, and here are my current favourite budget-friendly foundations that every makeup lover should own.

L'OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION

What makes this foundation so unique to me is the beautiful golden pearlescent swirl in the formula that just makes my skin glow. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin for a medium coverage foundation and it always looks flawless. I love that it's oil-free so it lasts a good while throughout the day without it looking too shiny. I cannot fault this product as it just exceeded my expectations from the very first application. From the stylish packaging to the overall quality of this foundation, I think it performs just as well as some others with a higher price tag.

MAYBELLINE MATTE + PORELESS FOUNDATION

Because of my oily skin, majority of the time I reach for a matte foundation and this has been a long time favourite of mine from the drugstore. This medium-full coverage foundation does a wonderful job at evening out my skin tone and covers all sorts of imperfections including acne. The only downside for me is there's no pump but that easily be overlooked because it's truly a great product. If you have oily skin or prefer a matte finish, you definitely need this in your makeup bag!

WET N WILD PHOTO FOCUS FOUNDATION

This foundation has been receiving rave reviews by fellow beauty lovers and the fact that it states it looks flawless under seven different lighting conditions, I just had to have it! Now I haven't given it a proper try as yet (full review coming to you soon!), but so far I am thoroughly enjoying it. The consistency is quite thin however the coverage is there and it looks great on the skin. Although I did notice that it clung to dry areas so beware of that. I was absolutely amazed by the shade range for a drugstore foundation and for the first time, I actually had to think about what shade I needed because they accommodated for all skin tones with every undertone. I'm really excited about this one so here's hoping it lives up to the hype.

L'OREAL NUDE MAGIQUE CUSHION FOUNDATION

When I'm wanting a light and natural makeup look, this is normally the foundation I go for. It's pretty much a sponge saturated in liquid foundation and leaves my skin with a healthy dewy finish. So easy to apply whether you're in a hurry or on-the-go, and it's just great for a day to day foundation as it also contains an SPF of 29. I honestly didn't think I would get into the whole Korean cushion foundation trend, but I'm officially loving it. So much so that I'm on my second compact of this particular foundation.
