The Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick

Rimmel's latest addition to their range is everything a matte lip lover needs, and the trend is definitely here to stay. I picked up majority of the shades (9 in total) when I went on a drugstore spree earlier this month and spoiler alert, I am really loving them! In this post I'll be giving you an in-depth look at these lippies (including swatches!), as well as sharing with you my overall thoughts on them.

Some matte formulas can be overly drying therefore being extremely uncomfortable to wear, and then you get to the inevitable flaking stage which let's be real, it's just unappealing. But then again, the staying power of some are incredible so it's a bit of a love hate relationship.

The good news is that the formula of these Only 1 Matte Lipsticks are amazing. It was love at first swatch with how pigmented they are and how velvety they feel - they just glide over your lips with ease and feel completely weightless. A few other things that separate these matte lipsticks from some others is they don't feel tacky, they don't sink into your lip lines and they are actually very moisturising. The only thing I will say is that they're not 100% transfer-proof which they don't claim to be, but they still wear really well throughout the day so you might only find yourself having to touch up once or twice particularly if you're eating and drinking. I can't quite pinpoint what the exact scent of these lipsticks are but I absolutely adore it!

There aren't an endless supply of shades to choose from, however they do have a good variety ranging from light to dark that would suit many people and their skin tones. My personal favourites out of the six would have to be 'Salute' (dusty pink) and ' High Flyer' (deep brown-pink). They're just really wearable for any time of the day and you guys know, I am a real sucker for a good ol' nude lip. 'The Matte Factor' (deep red) would make for a gorgeous statement lip if you love your bold shades, and it has a lovely autumnal vibe to it as well.

From top to bottom: Salute, High Flyer, The Matte Factor, Call The Shots, Trendsetter & Take The Stage.

Rimmel have really impressed me with this range so if you're thinking about getting your hands on these lipsticks, I definitely recommend them! They're comfortable on the lips, not drying whatsoever, great staying power and the overall quality is simply amazing for the price tag. If you are all about the matte lip, then these would make a fantastic addition to your makeup bag.
