The Pale Girl's Guide to Makeup

This post is for all of you fair skinned ladies out there who struggle with finding makeup that complements our Snow White complexion. The foundation shade that says 'ivory' or 'porcelain' but it's really not, the bronzer that makes you look muddy to the nude lipstick that completely washes you out, while that blush looks stark and obvious. I share the same frustration with you, which is why I thought I would bring you some of my favourite makeup products that are tried and true in this pale girl's guide to makeup.

THE BODY SHOP HONEY BRONZE

This matte bronzer has the most silkiest texture and it blends into the skin beautifully with ease, so it's completely foolproof and very hard to over do it. It never looks patchy and the shade '01' has the perfect neutral tone that looks so natural on fair skin. It lasts all day without any kind of fading and it gives my skin that gorgeous sun kissed glow. It makes a huge difference to my overall complexion and 9 times out of 10 I will reach for this beauty. If I could recommend one bronzer for pale skin, this would be it for sure.

One of their best selling shades from the range is 'Birthday Suit' that I absolutely adore. It's a pretty nude tone pink that looks very flattering on my skin tone and it's also totally wearable for any time of the day. The formula is very creamy yet lightweight and incredibly opaque with just one swipe. It dries down to a complete matte finish that can feel slightly drying but some lip balm will easily fix that. Another thing that I love about this product is that it wears really well and it doesn't flake off or crumble throughout the day which is not a cute look, so for the price it is an amazing lip cream!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you would know how utterly obsessed I am with this particular concealer. There was never a wide range of affordable concealers that suited fair skin with different undertones, until NYX came along and released 23 shades in total with 4 of them being for us pale girls (hallelujah!). Not only is 'Porcelain' made specifically for light skin with blue undertones, but it's actually lighter than my natural skin tone which makes it absolutely perfect for brightening under my eyes, forehead, nose and chin. The coverage is quite good and it ALWAYS looks flawless. It's a definite must-have.

ZOEVA LUXE COLOUR BLUSH

'Shy Beauty' is a stunning muted peach shade that complements fair skin nicely and adds a soft natural hue to the cheek (not clown-like!). The colour pay off is fantastic and I love how velvety soft the powder is - it definitely has a luxurious feel to it and the packaging is just lovely. I've always found peach/coral and pink tones of blushes to really flatter lighter complexions with warm or cool undertones beautifully, but remember less is more when it comes to our skin tone!

This is the ultimate pale skin saviour, and I'm so happy that I can finally wear those foundations (mostly drugstore) that never quite matched me with confidence. All you need is a few drops to mix in with your foundation, and it completely transforms an imperfect shade to the perfect one. So say goodbye to foundations that are too warm, too yellow and just generally too dark.
