Makeup Revolution | Salted Caramel

If Makeup Revolution was readily available here in Australia, I'm not going to lie, I would be stalking their display every week. As a big lover of this brand, I have quite a few of their products that I thoroughly enjoy but today it's all about the much hyped Salted Caramel Eyeshadow Palette.

All of their I Heart Chocolate Palettes have that really cute chocolate bar packaging (almost good enough to eat!) with a subtle sweet chocolatey scent. You have a nice variety of mattes, shimmers, light and dark shades (16 all together) as well as a cream/ivory and black shade which I consider to be a staple in any eyeshadow palette.

The pigmentation of these shades are beautiful and buttery in texture apart from one particular shade; I found 'Cake' (glittery pink) to be incredibly hard to work with as it just wasn't picking up any pigment. HOWEVER, when I used it with a wet brush, problem solved! I adore my neutrals so the top 3 shades that I dip into the most are 'Heavenly' (mauve-taupe), 'Spoon' (shimmery light brown) and ' Salted' (deep shimmery grey-brown). A perfect little combination for any occasion and you could smoke it out for a more sultry look or deepen it up for the nighttime.

If you're feeling a bit daring and want to step out of your comfort zone, the shade 'Crunch' is the way to go. It'll add a gorgeous glitzy pop of colour to your eyelids, without it looking too in your face as it is more of a teal-blue shade. Paired with a deep matte brown shade for the crease and outer corner of your eyes like, 'Candy' or 'Drizzle' would be a match made made in heaven!

As far as blendability goes, these shades blend like an absolute dream. Although, you can get a bit of fallout but it's nothing you can't manage. The overall quality is pretty amazing for the price you're paying and it's a very versatile eyeshadow palette, so you can easily achieve a bunch of different eye looks for whatever the occasion may be. It's quite similar to the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette, so I can definitely see why this product was consistently out of stock. It's a really handy palette to have and would also make a great Christmas gift for the makeup junkie.

What are your thoughts on this lovely palette?

  1. This is really pretty but I'm not sure how I feel about the packaging and tend not to buy beauty products if I don't think the packaging is to die for!
