October Favourites

Goodbye October and hello November! I cannot believe the end of 2016 is so near, where has the time gone? The end of the month calls for another monthly favourites, so here are what beauty and makeup products I've been loving throughout October.

I'm a sucker for the good old nude lip and Maybelline's Color Sensational Stripped Nudes lipstick in Honey Beige (caramel-brown) is perfect for everyday wear and doesn't wash me out. The formula of these lipsticks are incredibly creamy and moisturising on the lips which can also be the downside to them because they can wear off quite easily. For me however, I'm not too bothered by it so I don't mind reapplying after a meal. The colour payoff is beautiful and they also have that classic sweet scent like most of their lippies.

Anyone with fair skin like myself would know the struggle when it comes to finding the right shade of foundation, and 'porcelain ivory' never seems to look it. So I FINALLY got my hands on the Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops by The Body Shop, and it has changed my foundation game! I usually need 2-3 drops depending on how dark the foundation is and then I just mix it in on the back of my hand. It works extremely well and I haven't noticed it to alter the formulation of the foundations, so this is a very handy product to have in your makeup stash.

I have been on a LONG hunt for my go-to cleanser and I think I may be onto a winner! I love Simple as a brand - Their Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes are simply my favourite so I'm a big fan of their Kind To Skin range. I saw immediate results using this cleanser within the first 2 days and it helped to fight off breakouts, as well as leaving my skin feeling thoroughly clean with no dryness or tightness. I find Zinc as an ingredient to really react well with my skin, so I definitely recommend the Spotless Skin range if you have problematic skin.

As I have dark under eye circles and blemishes that need attention, I like using the Australis 4-in-1 Concealer and Corrector Palette to counteract that redness and blueness. The skin tone shades are far too dark for me but the more salmon-orange shade actually works really well to camouflage my under eye circles, and then I like to follow up with the purple to brighten the area. This combination truly makes a difference but do be careful when applying it because they are quite thick in texture so it may crease. Overall, I think it's a great little corrector palette especially for the drugstore.
