What's In My Makeup Bag | August

For day to day, I like to keep my makeup bag quite minimal by only carrying products that I know I can rely on and require very little effort to apply. So here is a look at what products I have been carrying around with me in my makeup bag lately.

Stila's Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer is a long time favourite of mine because it gives you flawless full coverage and it literally does stay all day. I've worn this in the Summer heat and it surprisingly holds up extremely well, even with my oily skin. I love that it comes with a heavy duty concealer, it does a wonderful job at hiding blemishes and it's great for touching up on-the-go as well.

Mascara makes a huge difference to my overall makeup look as it makes me look wide awake, so it's a step I never like to skip. One of my favourite drugstore mascaras is the Revlon Ultimate All-In-One. Because of the small wand, it makes it a lot easier to coat the lashes right at the base for added definition and length.

Face powder is a must-have in my makeup bag for touching up throughout the day to ensure my makeup stays in place for as long as possible. The Cocoa Powder Foundation by Too Faced can be used as a foundation alone but I like to set my makeup with it instead. The cocoa scent is amazing and it leaves your skin looking matte but not flat, which is great if you don't like that overly matte finish to your base.

When it comes to my eye makeup, most of the time I reach for creamy potted eyeshadows just for a wash of colour. They're just so quick and easy to use, you just dip your figure into the product, apply it all over the lid and buff it out with a blending brush. I've been loving the e.l.f. Smudge Pot Cream Eyeshdaow for just that, and Cruisin Chic is a lovely shimmery taupe shade that also works beautifully as an eyeshadow base.

Shy Beauty by Zoeva from the Luxe Color Blush range complements my fair skin so incredibly well. It's a muted peach tone that gives you that natural flush to the cheek. The colour pay off is great and I love that it contains Apricot Oil and Vitamin E to nourish the skin.

BH Cosmetic's Studio Pro HD Brow Pencil is my absolute go-to brow pencil. The fine precision tip allows me to fill and define my brows with ease, and also comes with a spooley on the opposite which is quite handy. I've also read that it's a great dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz but much more wallet friendly.

I can finally understand the hype over the Veil Mineral Primer by Hourglass now that I have got my hands on it, and I've got to say it's pretty amazing. It's oil-free, smooths out your complexion, minimises shine and reduces the appearance of your pores. It does everything you need a primer a to do and for that it's a new favourite of mine.

Sonia Kashuk's Satin Luxe Lip Color in Nude Pink hasn't moved from my makeup bag in quite some time. It is just the perfect "my lips but better" shade and the packaging definitely feels more high-end than drugstore which is a bonus. The formula is really hydrating and adds a nice sheen to the lips which is very flattering.

The Soft Touch Mineral Powder by Models Prefer in Soft Focus is such a beautiful product in the way it gives my complexion a natural radiant glow. My favourite way to use to this baked powder is as a highlighter and it just gives me a subtle "lit from within" look to my makeup. I absolutely adore this product, it's a makeup bag must-have for me.
