Makeup Bag Essentials

When I'm travelling long or short distances, I like to keep my makeup bag simple by only carrying my essentials for creating a full face of makeup. These are my 9 highly reliable must-haves that I can't go without.

I have large pores so some foundations can settle into them which is not a good look. To prevent that, I use the Cya Later Pores Spot Primer by Australis. It's one of my go-to primers because I can always rely on it to minimize the appearance of my pores therefore, giving me a flawless base to work with. Not only does it take care of my pore situation, it also does a wonderful job at controlling my oily skin so my makeup can look shine free for longer.

Having breakout prone skin and dark under eye circles, concealer is an absolute necessity in my makeup bag. I love Stila's Perfecting Concealer as it's an all in one for me. It's a full coverage formula that hides under eye circles, blemishes and redness without caking up or creasing anywhere on the face. Very creamy in texture, blends easily and a little goes a long way!

Mascara makes a huge difference to your overall makeup look. It makes my eyes appear bigger and more wide awake. The All Eyes On Me Waterproof Multi-Effect Mascara by Essence gives my lashes volume while lengthening and separating them. A great budget friendly mascara that won't smudge or budge throughout the day.

I like having a foundation in my makeup bag that I know will withstand whatever the day may bring and whatever the weather condition/temperature may be. L'Oreal's Infallible 24H Matte Foundation truly does it all and it's everything that I look for in a quality foundation. It offers high coverage with a medium texture and a matte finish. Not only that but it's also waterproof, oil absorbing and formulated with 1/3 water so it feels lightweight on the skin. A very impressive drugstore foundation that is one of my absolute favourites.

Face powder is another essential of mine as it sets my makeup and allows me to touch up throughout the day. You can use the Cocoa Powder Foundation by Too Faced as a setting powder or foundation. I like to use it as a powder and it gives me a lovely matte, rose petal finish without looking too flat. I'm in love with the cocoa scent and the powder is so fine, it leaves my face feeling smooth and soft.

The Color Tattoo Eyeshadows by Maybelline are fantastic for travelling! Bad To The Bronze is a gorgeous shimmery bronze shade that looks stunning on the eye. All I do is sweep it across my eyelids with my finger and that's all there is to it! Add a little for daytime or add more for nighttime which will give you a smokey, sultry look. These eyeshadows don't crease at all for a cream product and they last all day without fading.

I love Zoeva as a brand and their products are of amazing quality. The Luxe Cream Lipstick in Floral Crown is a beautiful dark pink shade that is perfect for Spring and Summer. The packaging is so sleek and luxurious, and the formula is just lovely. It's enriched with ivy, mallow and elderflower which makes this lipstick so hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Great colour pay off and oh so creamy.

I've been a loyal fan of L'Oreal's Brow Artist Plumper, I think it's amazing! I'm in the shade Blonde and it does an incredible job at filling in any sparse areas as well as setting them in place. The wand is the perfect size for shaping those brows with precision. It is so simple and easy to use, a must have if you have fair brow hairs or if they are in need of some volume.

The lucky last makeup product I have to share with you is the cult classic blush by Nars called Orgasm. This blush just looks absolutely gorgeous on the cheek and will go with any makeup look. It's a peachy-pink shade with gold shimmer throughout that just gives your cheeks a lovely radiant glow. If you're thinking of purchasing a blush from Nars, I would highly recommend this shade. It is loved by many in the world of beauty!
