March Favourites

Goodbye March and hello April! The time has come to share with you what I've been loving throughout the month of March.

The Super Stay Better Skin Powder by Maybelline is relatively new here in Australia, and I picked it up because it contains Salicylic Acid which is a great ingredient for my breakout prone skin. It mattifies my skin so it looks shine free and flawless all day long. It also adds a touch more coverage to your makeup without looking cakey and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin either. I like that the compact comes with a mirror, it's very handy for touching up on the go. I haven't used it for 3 weeks at a time to know whether or not it does improve the appearance of my skin so that's something I'll need to test out. I think this face powder could be a potential long time favourite of mine!

While we're on the topic of skin improving makeup, I've been really liking Australis' Blemish Buster Acne Fighting Primer lately. Evening Primrose Oil helps to heal and soothe your breakouts while Argan Kernel Oil provides your skin with hydration. It's a lightweight gel formula but at the same time it's moisturising and has a slight silicone feel which I really like. This primer also contains Vitamin C derivatives to brighten the skin and I noticed in the ingredients list that it has Salicylic Acid, which is a big plus for acne prone skin types. This primer just has it all! I love how light it feels on my skin, it hydrates while soothing problem areas and fights against acne. Best part is that it's a drugstore product! Definitely going to be my go-to primer when my skin is having a bad day!

I received the Organic Whole Body Balm by Jersey Shore Cosmetics in the March Lust Have It box and it is amazing! I love that every ingredient in this balm is natural and certified organic. It can be used to nourish and hydrate your face, hands, lips and nails. Pretty much anywhere on your body that requires hydration, this balm will have you covered! Because it has anti aging properties such as Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E, I like to use this as an overnight eye treatment and I always wake up with soft, hydrated skin around my eyes. This really is a multi purpose balm! I highly recommend it and I know I'll be getting a lot of use of this product, especially during the colder months.

I am incredibly late to the party in regards to Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, but I'm finally there! I bought my first ever eyeshadow pan and it's from their Duochrome collection in the shade Secret Garden. It was love at first swatch and it is unlike any other shade I own. The main colour is a deep espresso shade with a bright teal reflect. So incredibly rich in colour and so soft in texture. Blends across the eye lid like an absolute dream and would look stunning on brown eyes. I cannot wait to purchase more to make my own custom Makeup Geek palette! If you're new to Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, I encourage you to check them out. They are simply beautiful with an extensive range of shades to choose from.

Last but not least is the Makeup Mist & Set by e.l.f. For the longest time I just haven't been able to find a drugstore makeup setting spray that I can say I really like. I gave this one a try without high expectations and to my surprise, I actually really like it! The key ingredients are Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber, and Vitamins A, C & E so it's great for the skin. Some makeup setting sprays have a strong alcohol scent that nearly knocks you out but this one doesn't, it's quite mild and I didn't find any trace of alcohol in the ingredients list. It's an oil free formula which makes it perfect for oily skin types and it feels refreshing on the skin as well. It prolonged the wear of my makeup with minimal blotting so it lasts all day for me. It also sets my makeup really nicely and prevents it from fading and wearing off throughout the day.

That's it for my March favourites!
