October Favourites

Hello lovelies, hope October has treated you well.
Today I'll be sharing with you some high-end and some affordable products that I've been loving throughout the month of October!

Benefit POREfessional

After all the hype, I finally got my hands on this primer and I must say I really like it.
It fills in my pores very nicely and creates a lovely smooth base for my foundation.
It's silky and lightweight on the skin, you can even wear it alone if you like.
It is on the pricey side so for that reason I may not repurchase it just because I think there are plenty of other products that also do a great job at minimizing the appearance of pores.

Sleek MakeUP Eyeshadow Palette in Enchanted Forest

I fell in love with this palette as soon as I saw it and I just had to have it!
The colours in this palette just make me think of fairy tales, magic and woodlands. It's such a beautiful palette to have in your collection.

It features a mix of shimmer and matte shades that would create a stunning eye look for any time of the day.
Their eye shadows have amazing colour pay off and Sleek MakeUp as a brand are just great.

Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion

In Spring and Summer, my skin needs some extra help in controlling the oiliness so I incorporate a mattifying product in my skincare routine.
Dermalogica's Oil Control Lotion which is part of the MediBac Clearing range, helps to maintain an all-day matte finish and also contains Salicylic Acid to assist in breakout control.
This is most suited to anyone who has breakout-prone skin or if you have excess oil production.
I apply it over my t-zone area, twice a day after I cleanse my skin.

Designer Brands Moisturising Lipstick in Vivid Mauve

Designer Brands is so affordable and the quality of their products are amazing.
I've been loving this shade of lipstick for Spring, it's a beautiful pink/purple colour with a touch of silver shimmer. It just adds a pop of colour to your makeup look.

Illamasqua Powder Foundation in 115

I like to use this over the top of a foundation or BB/CC cream just for some extra coverage.
It mattifies my skin and stays put all day. It also smells amazing and feels so luxurious on the skin.

115 is suited to very light skin with neutral tones and it's perfect for me.
They do come 12 other shades so you're more than likely to find your perfect match.
I've heard that it can shatter easily so I personally wouldn't take it with me travelling as a precaution.

However, it is a very lovely powder foundation so if you're looking to splurge then definitely check it out.

That is it for my October Favourites and I hope you enjoyed the read.

First Impression & Review: L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation

L'Oreal are a great drugstore brand and I thoroughly enjoy their products whether it's hair or makeup, the quality is fantastic.
I came across their new Infallible Matte foundation at my local drugstore and thought I would do a review for you, so if you'd like to know more about this foundation then just keep on reading!

Description

First of all, I like the packaging. The squeezy tube makes it very easy to extract the product and apply it to your face without any mess or fuss.

I bought the shade 11 Vanilla which is the lightest shade in the range and it matches my complexion perfectly.

It does say to use your fingertips to apply but honestly, you can use whatever you like.
I used a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to apply this foundation and it worked beautifully.
Be sure to shake thoroughly before use.

The formula is definitely matte but it didn't catch onto any dry spots on my skin and I was very surprised by that.
It felt lightweight and smooth on the skin, blending really easily even without the use of a primer.

It says it's a full coverage foundation and I would absolutely agree with that.
It covers redness and blemishes for a flawless base.
I didn't notice it sink into my pores or cake up anywhere either.

I wore this foundation for a good 8 hours and it was also a warm Spring day.
Because I hadn't applied a primer, finishing powder or a setting spray, I noticed that it had worn off a bit on my nose because of my oily skin. But the rest of my face still looked flawless.
If you have any spots or blemishes peeking through, all you'd need is a touch of concealer and you're set.
I wore it again for 8 hours. I used a primer, I also set it with a face powder and there was no trace of oil peeking through or any need for touch ups. No fading, no wearing off, it looked just as good as it did when I applied it.
Another thing that this foundation didn't do was oxidize which is the last thing you want if you have fair skin.

Pros
Holds 35ml of product which is more than a standard foundation
Keeps you matte & doesn't dry out your skin
Doesn't sink into pores or fine lines
Comfortable to wear
Light & smooth formula
 Doesn't cake up or oxidize
Great coverage
Easy to blend
Amazing staying power

Cons
A bit on the pricey side so it may not fit into everyone's budget

Overall

This foundation claimed to do a lot of things so I had high expectations of it.
It ticked all the boxes and I was very impressed by how flawless it looked on my skin and how good it looked throughout the day. I just can't fault it, it blew me away.

This foundation is perfect for anyone who needs full coverage or has an oily skin type.
I would wear this mostly on nights out when I'm going for a heavier makeup look but you can wear it any time of the day.
If you love a matte finish, you'll definitely love this.

If you're worried about the price, you could take advantage of a good sale and you'll save a bit of money.

Would I recommend L'Oreal's Infallible Matte Foundation?
Absolutely!

One of the best drugstore foundations I've used!

If you're interested in this foundation you can find it on, http://www.lorealparis.com.au/.

Drugstore Starter Kit

If you're new to makeup, knowing where to begin can be overwhelming as there are a lot of products and a lot of brands to choose from.
I find the best place to start is at your local drugstore for affordable but good quality makeup.
And to give you a few ideas, I have picked out 10 products that I think are perfect for a makeup starter kit!

Australis Cya Later Pores Primer

This primer does a great job at filling in my pores and creating a smooth base for my foundation.

It's a non-greasy formula that contains Vitamin E to moisturise, silicone to help control oily skin and almond oil to promote healthy skin.
It's similar to Benefit's POREfessional Primer except much more wallet friendly!
If you don't have an issue with large pores or oily skin, Australis do stock other primers to suit different skin types.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation with Comfort Serum in Light Porcelain

I like this foundation if I'm in need of full coverage and high SPF.
It's comfortable to wear and looks beautiful on the skin once blended.

I don't know about it lasting 25 hours because honestly, who really wears/wants to wear their makeup for over a day. However, it really does last all day on my skin!
I'm a big fan of Rimmel's products and this is my favourite foundation of theirs.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

It really does perform a miracle to your complexion!
It just gives you the most flawless application and gives your makeup a beautiful finish.
I like to use the flat side on larger areas of my face by dabbing the product and the pointed tip covers any blemishes.
Can be used with liquid foundations, powders and cream products.
It's so multi-functional, you could almost do your entire face makeup with this sponge alone!
I would definitely recommend getting your hands on one of these for your makeup kit, it's truly made a difference to the way my makeup looks.

e.l.f. Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer in Porcelain

If you have dark under eye circles, redness or spots that need covering, this concealer will do the job!
It's very full coverage, doesn't crease under the eyes and I haven't found it to cake up anywhere either which is a big positive!

NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Ivory

If you have oily skin like myself, a mattifying powder will help keep the oil away!
It's a smooth, soft powder that adds a little bit extra coverage to your makeup.
I like to use it as a finishing powder to set everything in place and it helps to keep my makeup matte for longer.
A great inexpensive powder for oily skin types or if you just prefer a matte look to your makeup.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in Pink Rose

Adding blush to your makeup routine can instantly liven up your face and this is a stunning shade for any skin tone!
It holds 4 different shades that give your cheeks a lovely glow once blended together.
I also like to lightly sweep it on my brow bone and temples for a natural looking glow to my skin.

L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Blonde

If you're not feeling too confident in filling in your brows with a gel or pencil, an eyebrow mascara is a great product as it builds volume and adds more colour for a more defined brow without all the effort.
It's as simple as using short strokes to comb through your brows which will help to fill in any sparse areas and give you a fuller brow effect.
The Brow Artist Plumper also comes in the shade Dark Brunette and Transparent.

Models Prefer Nude Eyeshadow Palette

A handy little palette full of warm toned shades including matte and shimmers to create any look suitable for anyone.
Cab be worn alone for a soft and subtle look or mix the shades to create a smokey eye.
You can easily go from a day to night look with this palette.

It's also prefect for travelling!

Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara

Mascara is an absolute staple in a makeup kit.
2 to 3 coats of this mascara and it will thicken and darken your lashes while making you look wide awake.
For best results, use a lash curler beforehand to give your lashes a curl boost.

Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Smitten

These balm stains are amazing!
Quick and easy to use with no effort required.
They smell like peppermint and they add a
cooling feeling to your lips once applied.
It also leaves a bit of a stain on your lips so if it has worn off during the day, you'll still look good!
It's a wearable shade for day or night that leaves a satin finish on your lips and they feel very hydrating as it has shea, mango and coconut butter in their formula.

So they are what I think would be a great start to a makeup kit and I hope I was able to give you some ideas.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed it.

Top Spring Picks

It's Spring here in Australia and it is my absolute favourite season of the year.
From floral dresses to glowy makeup to colourful nails, I just love everything about it!
So today I'll be sharing with you my top beauty products that I've been loving this Spring!

NYX Makeup Setting Spray - Matte Finish

As the weather warms up, I like to use a mattifying setting spray to ensure my makeup doesn't melt off my face.
This is a great, inexpensive one from NYX and it keeps my makeup in place all day.
I like to spray it after my primer and again once I've applied all of my makeup as my final step. It's just what works best for my oily skin.
If you prefer a more dewy finish to your makeup, NYX does have a setting spray for dewy skin as well.

BH Cosmetics Floral Blush Duo in Daisy

I've mentioned this blush in my BH Cosmetics haul and it is simply beautiful.
The shade on the left is a subtle gold toned shimmer and beside it is a bright pink shade.
Once you mix the two, it just creates this stunning peach toned glow which just looks lovely on the cheek, no matter what skin tone you are.
This has been a big favourite of mine this season and the packaging is the cutest!

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Royal Flush

I have quite a few nail polishes from the gel envy range and they're great! The base and colour are in the one bottle so you don't need to worry about applying a base coat beforehand which saves time and effort.
The polish has a good consistency to it and it isn't streaky at all.
I love my bright nail colours in Spring and Royal Flush is one of my favourites!
If you love your pinks, you'll definitely love this one!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in the shade 01

Having fair skin means being ultra careful with bronzing products.
You cannot go wrong with this bronzer though.
It's subtle and not orange in the slightest!
The powder is soft and silky and easy to work with.
I even use it as a contour shade and it works beautifully!
I would definitely recommend this bronzer!

Stila Lip Glaze in Kitten

Stila's lip glazes are very popular and so is the shade Kitten.
If you love the famous Kitten eye shadow then you'll fall in love with this lip glaze too.
A must have for Spring as it has a gold shimmer to it which just makes your lips look amazing when the sun hits your face!
It's not over-the-top glittery, it's just gives you a nice gloss to your lips that would suit all skin tones.
It can be worn alone or over the top of your favourite lip colour.

Models Prefer Infinite Colour Eye Pencil in Nude Appeal

Nude toned eye pencils are a fantastic way to make your eyes appear larger and brighter without looking overdone. This eyeliner is so creamy with a high colour pay off that lasts a while too.
It's also smudge proof and waterproof which is perfect!
I like to apply it in my water line, inner corners of my eyes and as a little bit of a brow bone highlight.

Innoxa Restore Brightening & Even Complexion Creme SPF 15

The sun is out a lot more which means wearing SPF a lot more is very important.
I like to use this as a base for my BB or CC cream (I prefer light makeup in warmer months) and it does a good job at brightening my skin.
It gives me a nice natural glow to my makeup which I just love in Spring time!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed my top Spring picks.

September Favourites

Another month has gone by which means it's time for my September favourites!
So let's get into it!

Designer Brands Longwear 24 Hour Foundation in Classic Ivory

This foundation has been compared to Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation.
I don't own that foundation so I can't give you my opinion on it but if it is anything like it, then I just saved myself a lot of money!
I can honestly tell you that this foundation has reached my top 5.
It is just simply amazing.
It's a full coverage foundation that contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera Extract. It also contains an SPF of 15 to protect your skin from the sun's harsh rays.

Keep an eye out as I will have a full review coming up!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan

I absolutely love the smell of these lip creams!
It's like a sweet butterscotch scent.
This shade will look beautiful in spring/summer.
The formula of these are so silky and smooth for a matte lip product and not drying on the lips whatsoever.
I would definitely recommend you get your hands on these matte lip creams and they come in quite a few great shades too!

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Fair

First of all, love the chocolate scent.
I mainly use this as a finishing powder and I like to dust it over my t-zone to set my makeup.
Another way you can use this product is over a primer and just build up the coverage to your liking.
It's full of antioxidants, it has an oil absorbing and non-drying formula that also minimizes the appearance of pore and fine lines.

I've really been enjoying this product!

Essence Soo Glow Cream to Powder Highlighter in Look On The Bright Side

Very creamy in texture but transforms into a powder upon application.
It's not glittery or shimmery at all, it gives you a more natural glow.
It looks lovely on the skin and you can build it up if you'd like more of an intense highlight.
I like to apply it on the top of my cheekbones for a bit of a glow.
You can also apply it on your cupid's bow, inner corners of your eyes or even as a brow highlight.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Mist

If you love fruity scents or the smell of peaches then you'll adore this body mist!
It's sweet, light and fresh but not overpowering.
I've been wearing this a fair bit since spring arrived and I have a feeling it's going to be used a whole lot more in summer.

So they are what I've been loving in the month of September and I hope you enjoyed the read.
