Drugstore Vs High-End - Makeup Remover Balms

Hi lovelies!
Hope you're all well!

Cleansing balms are an effective way to thoroughly remove a full face of makeup, including waterproof mascara! So,
today's post will be a comparison between, The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (drugstore) and Ole Henriksen's Pure Truth Melting Cleanser (high-end).

If you'd like to see which product is a winner, then just keep on reading!

The Body Shop - Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The first thing I loved about this was the packaging.

It's slim and easy to open and close.

The actual balm itself is a solid with a beautiful scent to it. Not overpowering at all, just a really pleasant scent.

To apply, you scoop out your desired amount and rub it into your dry face and massage it in like you would with any sort of cleanser, and rinse off with warm water.Once you've rinsed your face, follow up with your favourite serum and moisturiser.

It is perfectly safe for use around the eyes, I didn't experience any sort of stinging or irritation whatsoever.

The one thing I was very curious about was whether it would remove waterproof mascara and how well it would remove it.

It did a fantastic job!

After drying my eyes, there was no leftover mascara residue.

As for the rest of my makeup, it removed it nicely and left my face feeling clean.
It has a rich, creamy consistency that just leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

This balm contains high quality camomile essential oil and natural olive oil.

It's for suitable sensitive skin and if you wear contact lenses.

You can purchase The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter at,

Ole Henriksen - Pure Truth Melting Cleanser

First impression, it's an orange jelly!

Which got me excited to try it because if it's visually appealing, you'll be more inclined to use it.

This 3 in 1 cleanser contains Vitamin C, Rosehip Oil and Virgin Cherry Oil which benefit the skin in multiple ways such as, supporting natural collagen, neutralizing free radicals as well as brightening, repairing and nourishing the skin.

To apply, scoop out a small amount of the balm and massage into dry skin. The jelly will melt into an oil which will dissolve the makeup. Add warm water to your skin which will then transform into a milky texture. Rinse your skin clean and follow up with your favourite serum and moisturiser.

You can really smell the Rosehip Oil in the balm which isn't necessarily a horrible thing unless you despise the smell of Rosehip.

It has a very luxurious feel to the balm and you can tell instantly that your skin is just going to love it!

I also didn't experience any stinging or irritation around my eye area which is a plus!

As for how well it removed my makeup, it did an absolutely brilliant job! Even on waterproof mascara!

It also left my skin feeling hydrated and supple.

I purchased my Pure Truth Melting Cleanser on, http://www.lookfantastic.com/home.dept.

Overall, I think they both do a fantastic job at removing makeup and I don't have any problems with either of them in terms of look, feel or smell.
Although, I do prefer the smell of the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, but that's just me.

The Rosehip smell in the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser doesn't really bother me too much, it smells natural and I would much prefer that than something that just reeks of added artificial fragrances.

The Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is only 90 ml in volume as opposed to 118 ml being the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser.

So, if you were on a budget then by all means go for the drugstore option, it will give you great results however, I definitely feel that you would get more out of the high-end brand as not only is it packed full of wonderful ingredients for your skin, it also holds more product therefore, it would last you longer.

Ole Henrisken's Pure Truth Melting Cleanser is a winner in my eyes!

Thank you so much for reading and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it!
